It’s one thing to risk your life for situations that are uncontrollable.
It’s quite another to risk your life for cheap entertainment.
Unfortunately, this particular topic would pertain to the second one, as you could probably tell from the article topic:

Youth Filmed Doing Push Ups & Sit Ups on Busy Road for Instagram
What happened?
On 24 January, popular local journalist site Stomp wrote about a young man, who was supposedly caught on video running into the middle of the road to do push-ups and sit-ups.
Apparently, the act was captured on video, which was subsequently posted to @netizensofs1ngapore‘s Instagram feed. It has been denounced as an unacceptable video by Stomper Fyan (actually, it’s unacceptable to anyone who’s sane), who was the one that alerted Stomp to the video.
You can watch the video down below.

Judging by the fact that they call it “NAPFA” instead of “IPPT”, I reckon that guy is a kid with an undeveloped mindset.
If you can’t watch it, either because of data deprivation reasons or just sheer laziness, here’s the rough gist of it:
In the video, the youth can be seen dashing out onto the road to perform push-ups in front of oncoming traffic.

As the cameraman laughs in the background, the youth does a few more repetitions, before switching to sit-up position.
After a few reps, honking noises can be heard, and the youth finally vacates the road.
Outrage
After the video was released, it rapidly gained traction, alongside a whole slew of derogatory comments.
And there’s more.

Altogether, there’s one thing for certain.
The act wasn’t exactly going to rake in the dough if there was a charity drive.
It’s not exactly the first
As you might’ve kind of expected, this act wasn’t actually the first of its kind.
Back in August last year, a young man was spotted running out onto a road in Bukit Batok to do 5 push-ups, before running back again.
And just four months later, in December, a youth can be seen climbing over a railing to pull down his shorts and smack his buttocks in the middle of the road.

That same month, a group of youths were also recorded leaping into the Punggol Serangoon Reservoir from a bridge and posting it on Instagram.
So yeah, it seems that doing it for the gram is very much real, and very much a thing.
Moral of the story
And so, that leads us to the all-important, all-popular Moral Of The Story segment, which has incidentally been ranked as Goody Feed’s chart-topping section for 4 weeks straight.
(Editor: That’s a blatant lie)
For this edition, I’ve very kindly invited my Aunt Matilda to guest-talk on the topic, seeing how she just joins in without invitations anyway.
Aunt Matilda: Hey wassup.

Right, Aunt Matilda, what do you have to say about this particular topic?
A.M.: Hmm… first and foremost, I would like to say that I’ve seen smarter entities in a fish tank. And secondly, if he was my child I would’ve flayed him within an inch of his ****ing life. And thirdly-
Editor: I’m just gonna stop you right there. This is a family-friendly channel, not your personal trash bin.
Oh wow, there’s a new challenger. Fight, fight.
A.M.: Excuse moi? I’ll bloody say what I want to say, you piece of **** in a **** with **** for **** and ******-

This article has been abruptly concluded for formalities’ sake.
But seriously, the number of kids doing dangerous stunts just to show off on Instagram has been increasing. Maybe the authorities should mete out punishments for those kids doing silly things, no?
These five GRCs could see the tightest battle in GE2025; here’s why:
