Yu Menglong, known also by his stage name Alan Yu, died at age 37 after falling from a building in Beijing on 11 Sep 2025.
His agency confirmed the news in a Weibo statement, saying police have ruled out any criminal involvement and asking that he rest in peace.
Who is Yu Menglong?
Born in Urumqi, Xinjiang, in 1988, Yu first entered the entertainment scene as a contestant on the singing contest Super Boy in 2013.
He made his acting debut in the short film The Little Prince (2011) and rose to prominence with the 2015 web drama Go Princess Go. He later starred in Eternal Love (2017) and appeared in series such as Xuan-Yuan Sword: Han Cloud and The Legend of White Snake.
What Allegedly Happened
According to reports, Yu was dining with friends at a private residence on 9 Sep. In the early hours of 11 Sep, he locked himself in a bedroom to rest.
His friends discovered his absence around 6 AM and found his body downstairs. A neighbour walking a dog alerted the authorities. The fall occurred from the fifth floor; Yu died on impact, and the case remains under investigation.
Fans and colleagues have expressed condolences online. Actress Dilraba Dilmurat remembered him as “gentle & sincere” on social media.
Yu’s sudden passing prompted an outpouring of tributes across China and beyond. He leaves behind a body of work that spans singing, acting, and music video direction, marking him as a versatile talent in Chinese entertainment.
