Popular Japanese Actress Yuko Takeuchi Dies In her Home; Suspected to be Suicide
40-year-old Japanese actress Yuko Takeuchi reportedly took her life today (27 September 2020).
The veteran actress, who debuted in 1996, had starred in both the small screen and the big screen, and had won the the Japanese Academy Award for best actress in a leading role for three years in a row from 2004 to 2007.
She’s currently more well-known as her role as the female Japanese Sherlock Holmes in HBO’s Miss Sherlock in 2018.
According to reports, she was found in a bedroom, hanging by the neck, in her apartment by her husband at around 2am.
No suicide note has been found, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department suspected that Takeuchi committed suicide.
