If you’re old like me, you’ll know Lynn Poh.
And if you’re old like me, you’ll remember Lynn Poh as the blur queen Zhu Zhu in the insanely popular sitcom Don’t Worry, Be Happy, the ironic role that made us notice her and fall in love with her.
But if you’ll have realized, she had quietly disappeared from TV, with her last drama in 2010. Occasionally, you’ll see her face in the papers as a property agent, in a team known as ERA Celebrity Team which was reportedly set up in late 2007.
So, did she quit acting to become a full-time property agent (which, to be honest, was my speculation as well)?
Apparently not.
According to a latest report in The New Paper, the reason why she had cut back on acting then was to settle down—she married in 2011 and had stopped acting the year before that. Her contract with MediaCorp had ended in 2007 and since then, she had been acting on a freelance basis.
She was apparently not a full-time property agent, but was / is a part-time agent. In around 2013 to 2014, she was divorced and had not been in a relationship since then.
And here’s the good news: she’s already back on TV, playing a role as the wife of Chen Hanwei in the new Channel 8 drama, The Truth Seekers.
If you’ve watched the show, you’ll realize this veteran actress has not lost her touch—for all we know, she could become the next Ah Jie, because we’ve all watched her shows since we were young!
Here’s all the best to Zhu Zhu Lynn Poh!
