Toa Payoh Couple Who Bullied Old Man
Unless you’ve forgotten or you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll have known about the couple who bullied an old man in Toa Payoh, and it’s all for a table at a hawker centre to boot!
So, the latest news ended with the couple being arrested by the police. We thought that’s the end. GG. End of story.
But nope, that’s not all.
联合早报, our national Chinese newspaper couldn’t let the case end like this and decide to go all CSI on the couple.
This is what they found.
Man And Woman Reportedly Worked In The Same Tuition Centre
For those who thought they worked in UOB, here’s a closure for us all. They don’t.
The husband and wife were discovered to be working together at a tuition centre.
The 46-year-old husband was discovered to be the chairman of the tuition centre. From the information obtained from ACRA, the newspaper discovered that the man started this tuition centre back in May 2011 with two others.
He also owns two other companies, one which does renovations and the other which offers premium education courses.
The 39-year-old woman was discovered to be an educator at said tuition centre. She was also identified as the centre manager for the tuition centre according to a Straits Times report back in 2015.
Been Teaching For 16 Years, Most Students Get A or A*
Her profile on the tuition centre’s website was taken down, but not before the internet managed to get their hands on a screenshot of her profile.
According to her profile on the company website, she has been teaching primary mathematics for 16 years.
She joined the tuition centre since it’s inception in 2011, teaching premium mathematics.
Okay, let’s take a quick pause here. What the hell is premium mathematics?
… Okay, moving on.
It was also highlighted that majority of her students got an A* or A in 2013 and 2014 PSLE results.
Male Relative Confirmed Identity Of The Couple
When 联合早报 went to visit the registered address of the man, he reportedly denied being involved in the case and slammed the door on them.
Not giving up, they contacted a male relative of the woman and he allegedly confirmed that they were the ones in the video.
According to the male relative, the woman was born in Singapore while her husband has become a Singapore citizen now.
They first met while they were on tour and decided to tie the knot in Malaysia after being together for ten years.
What’s next? They’re going to offer free tuition to the elderly as an apology?
