Toothpaste is something we can’t do without, and if we have to go without for a single day, we’ll probably feel uncomfortable just like how we feel when we realized we’re left without our mobile phones. If you don’t belong to the aforementioned category, now we know who’s stinking up the buses and trains every morning.

There’re a couple of uses that comes to mind immediately when we think of toothpaste: to clean our teeth, and of course, to be applied to scalded patches on our skin to sooth the pain. But did you know that the humble toothpaste can be used for more than that? Here’re 10 other uses of the godly toothpaste we’ve been underestimating long enough.

Clean your shoes
Your school shoes especially. Do you always wash your sneakers (read: converse) but couldn’t rub out the dirt from the rubber parts? Use toothpaste and you can spare your hands the soreness of extra scrubbing.

Clean watermarks on furniture
Had guests over last night and realized there’re watermarks on your wooden table? Use your neighbourhood friendly toothpaste to make them disappear!

Treat pimples
Need to get rid of that zit overnight? Apply some toothpaste to that nasty thing and leave it on overnight. The toothpaste will dehydrate your pimples. Note, it might just sting though. Just sayin’.

Freshen your fingernails
Are your nails dull and yellowish? Scrub them with toothpaste and a toothbrush and your nails will look fresh and healthy!

Polish your silver rings
Diamond rings need to be well maintained, otherwise they lose their shine. Cleaning them with toothpaste will help your ring regain that shine and the envy of your friends.

Prevent fogging
Of headlights, goggles, mirrors etc. Toothpaste works on all of them. Don’t you just hate it when things fog? Just smear some toothpaste then wipe it away.

Remove lipstick stains from clothes
This is every girl’s nightmare and some guys’ as well because lipstick stains are pretty hard to remove. Here’s what you do: rub toothpaste on the lipstick stain, scrub the area under running water and there you go.

Clean leather
Leather shoes losing its shine? Use toothpaste to make it shiny once again. Just don’t use toothpaste on suede or nubuck.

Clear smelly hands
Been washing fish or chopping onions and your hands smell like shit no matter how many times you wash your hands? Wash your hands with toothpaste instead of soap and it’ll smell fresher than ever!

Clean your kitchen sink
Kitchen sinks tend to lose their shine and turn dark grey after a while. To prevent that, wash your sink and scrub with toothpaste. It’s kinda like using Coke to clean chrome. (What on earth have we been putting in our mouths?)
