Chok Dee Dim Sum
Start your morning in Hat Yai with a sumptuous dim sum spread. You get to choose the dim sum dish that you want and the staff will cook it for you after you order. They also serve bak ku teh.

Ching Jie Restaurant
A famous place selling pig organs soup a.k.a kway chap. The main attraction is the stewed pork leg soup with salted vegetables. Their roasted crispy pork is also a must try.

Kan Eng Restaurant
Authentic Thai food at very affordable prices. Most tuk tuk drivers will know of this place and bring you there if you are not sure of its location. The tom yum soup, braised pork trotters and moonlight prawn cakes are the main highlights.

Mui Kee Famous Hainanese Chicken Rice
This is the most famous chicken rice store in Hat Yai and is popular among both locals and tourists. In fact, the locals loved it so much that they call the store “the best chicken rice restaurant in Hatyai”. Worth visiting to taste the Thai rendition of Hainaese chicken rice.

Golden City Bird’s Nest
Hat Yai is one of the cheapest places to buy bird nest (although sometimes it might be fake). You’ll see stores selling bird nest everywhere that you go. Golden City Bird Nest is one of the more reputable place around and you can choose from various grades of bird’s nest from as low as 200 baht.

This is also a common dish in Hat Yai and is usually served in claypot. It is usually found in restaurants selling bird’s nest.
