Nathan Hartono is Going to be a Lead in a Movie

Remember Nathan Hartono? He’s like one of the local heroes of Singapore in recent time. Confirm you’ll remember him, either from his outstanding performance in the singing competition or the DBS commercials you see everywhere in Singapore.

Well, guess what? He’s going to be the male lead in a movie soon. Here’s what our local golden boy is up to right now.

Warrior of Love (Tentative Title)

No, he’s not going to be taking part in an action blockbuster nor will he be the classical cupid flying around. No matter what the title might look like.

The movie is a car-theme movie, complete with speeding cars and all. He will play the idol of a young gullible woman who has dreams of becoming a professional racer. He was rescued by her and found himself falling for her.

Ladies, play it cool because the female lead hasn’t been chosen yet.

Still New to Acting on Screen

Hartono mentioned that he is still raw to acting.

Given he has taken part in a few acting roles like the 2012 musical Spring Awakening, HBO Asia series Halfworlds in 2015 where he became a loverboy, and a cameo appearance in the CNY movie The Fortune Handbook, we like to think he’s actually pretty experienced.

“I do feel the pressure, but it is the good kind of pressure, the kind that drives me to improve and do greater things. I cannot wait to take on the challenges this film will bring.” – Straits Times

Written by Singapore’s Boris Boo with Taiwan’s Gavin Lin and Hermes Lu, the S$2.5 million movie is a collaboration between Singapore’s SIMF Management and Taiwan’s Opensky Entertainment and will be the first car-racing themed movie for Singapore.

Great looks and a beautiful voice to boot. What’s next?
