Have you heard about the #MannequinChallenge? It’s taking over the internet. Just search for #mannequinchallenge and you’ll find loads of videos of people around the world taking part in this challenge.
And there’s no prize apart from being the coolest dudes on the net.
The challenge involves a group of people freezing in motion while a cameraman filmed and walked through the entire area.
It started with a prank
We’re not going to go into the specifics of how it works because, well, you should know. But what many don’t know is how it all began.
According to mic.com, it all began with twitter user, @@thvtmelanin_, a high school student Emili from Jacksonville, Florida.
She said that it all started from a prank where she stood in front of her class and froze one day.
“That’s when my friend A’laynah said, ‘Hey, you look like a mannequin.’ Then my friend Bre’Onna and Jasmine joined and we started doing all these crazy poses.”
Didn’t expect this to happen
Emili didn’t expect this to happen. As challenges are the new viral trends on the internet, they decided to post it online with the hashtag #MannequinChallenge.
They’ve never thought that this challenge will be the hottest online trend in the world. The most, they thought, was that it’ll be known throughout their school and maybe other schools in the city; not the whole world.
Have you tried it yet?
A cool music in the background and a group of people willing to stay frozen for some time. That’s all you need to be part of this latest internet trend.
Looks like Frozen…in time, doesn’t it?
