While yesterday’s daily case count was the highest since 21 Jul, that wasn’t the most concerning thing in the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) report.
And it wasn’t the number of imported cases or new clusters either, but the number of cases with no established links to previous ones.
90Â unliked cases were reported yesterday, nearly half the total local case count.
Fortunately, no new clusters were identified. Here are the details:
177 Locally Transmitted Cases
177 locally transmitted cases were reported yesterday, of whom 90 were unlinked.
33 were detected through surveillance testing.
In addition, three imported cases were detected, all of whom had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

The cluster linked to Bugis Junction had many additions as well; with nine new cases, it now has 233 infections in total.
Two new clusters were closed by MOH, meaning we now have 68 active clusters in the country.
499 Cases in Hospital; 5 in ICU
At the moment, there are 499 COVID-19 cases currently warded in hospital, most of whom are well and under observation.
22 severe cases require oxygen supplementation, and five are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Of these 27 cases, 18 are patients above the age of 60. Half of them are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated.
80% of our population are currently fully vaccinated, with 83% having received at least one dose.
Update on Mass Testing at AMK HDB Block
In addition to their report, MOH provided an update on their testing operations at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 for residents of block 113.
The mass testing drive began on 29 Aug after nine cases were detected in five households there.
Fortunately, all 271 residents at the block tested negative for the coronavirus.
