Regardless of our age, our lives are so interconnected with electronics such as mobile phones, computers, video game consoles to the point where life would be hard without it.
Yes, this includes household appliances and Alexa too.
If you’re at the age where you have to get your own electronics, you’d know that these don’t come cheap.
(By the way, here’s a warm welcome to adulthood)
As everyone in the office, with the exception of our childish boss, is a fellow adult, we decided to write something that helps everybody like you and I.
Something that every Singaporean adore.
Something like…
10 Places in Singapore to Get Electronics for A Fraction Of The Price
You’re welcome, by the way.
1. Mobile Square
Far East Plaza is known to be the go-to spot for people looking for body piercings and tattoos but also nestled comfortably in the mall is Mobile Square. This store claims to sell mobile phones at the cheapest price in Singapore, and yes, even cheaper than Telcos!
I got my current phone from Mobile Square and the process was really seamless.
In addition to phones, the store sells phone accessories, drones, watches and photography equipment.
If you decide to head down, do note that they only accept cash payment. To save yourself a wasted trip, you may call them at 6733 3747 to check if they have stocks for a certain product, and text them at 9452 9208 to make reservations.
Address: 14 Scotts Road, #02-98, Far East Plaza, 228213
Opening hours: Mon to Sat: 11am – 8:30pm, Sun: 11am – 8pm
2. Mustafa Centre
A popular spot among many Singaporeans, the 24/7 department store is home to a wide variety of products – somewhat similar to Don Don Donki.
The Electronics department in Mustafa is located on Basement 2 and offers products ranging from consumer electronics to household appliances. If you’re worried about items being iffy, most of their electronics have an international warranty. So check before your purchase to be extra sure!
Editor: This is your store if you’re looking for cheap televisions to catch up with your favourite Ah Jie and Ah Ge.

P.S. If you’re a foreigner, you can even do Tax Refund for items bought in this store at booths located conveniently at B1 and B2.

Opening hours: 24 hours daily
3. IT Show, COMEX, PC Show, SITEX
IT Shows and Exhibitions are held annually where consumers can enjoy great deals (think discounts and freebies) on consumer and home appliances. Posters of these IT fairs are usually plastered everywhere in public and online so it’s hard to catch wind of it.
The more popular Exhibitions include IT Show, COMEX, PC Show and SITEX.
4. Qisahn
Video games and consoles don’t come cheap but for die-hard gamers thinking of getting their hands on the latest games at more affordable prices, Qisahn is worth a visit.
Located in Far East Shopping Centre, Qisahn is the underdog in the gaming world. They have an online store for customers to save a trip down and offer delivery services too.
Furthermore, customers can get first dibs on upcoming releases and pre-order games on their site, which is very responsive by the way.

5. Challenger
Do they even need any introduction? The store sells IT and lifestyle products at a steal, especially for its members. Apart from discounted prices daily, members can enjoy exclusive sales every once in a while and can accumulate points in exchange for gifts.

They have 38 stores scattered across Singapore and have been awarded Best Consumer Electronic Chain Store for six years.
One thing I like about Challenger is the fact they have a decent amount of friendly and knowledgeable staff stationed around the store, readily offering their assistance.
And most important, to enjoy the discounts, do sign up as a member, or go with a friend who’s a member.
Opening hours: 11 am – 9:30 pm daily
6. Sim Lim Square
Sure, the mall is notorious not only for their competitive pricing and extensive range of consumer electronics (DVDs, cameras, phones, computer parts) and services, but also a handful of dishonest store owners.
However, this doesn’t change the fact that it has been a one-stop location for tech junkies.
A number of their tenants have made headlines for scamming customers so before you head down, consider reading some tips to avoid an unpleasant experience.
With that said, the management has implemented stricter measures i.e. the STARetailer initiative to sieve out fraudulent business owners.

Opening hours: 9:30 am to 8 pm daily
7. Courts Megastore
Looking for household appliances but not sure how to stretch your dollar? Courts may very well be your best bet.
With weekly promotions and an array of electronics under one roof, consumers definitely have to visit Courts.
There are various outlets islandwide but their store in Tampines is the largest to date. For time-starved customers, they have an online store for a seamless transaction.
What’s cool is the store has auctions every once in a while too, hello mega savings! Furthermore, undecided customers have the option of renting the product for a minimum duration of six months.
And after shopping there, you can head over to IKEA, which is just opposite, for a nice meal!

8. Mega Discount Store
Mega Discount Store has two outlets located exclusively in Kallang Leisure Park and United Square which offer reasonably priced audio/visual equipment, gadgets, home appliances and accessories; most of which are obtained directly from manufacturers.
Like most stores, they have an online store providing customers with a more convenient shopping experience. Many reviews from past customers never fail to mention the discounts received, especially for their bundle pricing.
In addition, they are willing to price match with other electronic stores, offering the best bang for your buck.

9. Goh Ah Bee
Eh, say what?
Only true money-savvy consumers are aware of this lesser-known store located in the neighbourhood. Many reviews online mentioned that Goh Ah Bee offers great discounts for certain household appliances, while others may be slightly more costly compared to other stores.
As one netizen suggested, “do your homework first” before committing to a store.

10. Online Malls Like Shopee Malls
Have you heard of Shopee Malls?
They’re basically started by official brands to sell their products online, and as you probably would know, anything online is always cheaper.
Moreover, you can earn coins or points, depending on where you buy them from.
Prices are extremely competitive, too: for example, you can get this laptop for less than $340, and it comes with a one-year warranty!
