We have read countless of guides on Tanjong Katong and Joo Chiat, but most of them are mostly peppered with cafes and restaurants that you have to visit. But here at Goody Feed, we are all about humble and comforting hawker fares because even though we might be really young at heart, we have old souls.
So, since we were already in the midst of finding out where to visit for our next team lunch, we decided to share the love with our readers and come up with 10 Best Hawker Food at Tanjong Katong & Joo Chiat because well, some of our writers are really still saving for their wedding.
1. Chin Mee Chin Confectionery
Granted, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Touted as the kopitiam with the BEST kaya toast, Chin Mee Chin Confectionery is one of the oldest coffee shops around the area.
The humble eatery is famed for their round buns (instead of the usual Kaya toasts) and their homemade Kaya spread, along with other homemade cakes that are priced at only S$1 each.

Trust us, you’ll love their boiled wantons so much that you will want to order up another bowl. And while you are at it, do try out the “Super HOT chili sauce” found on every table too – that’s definitely not for the fainthearted.
