In 2014, Kbox was sold to a Japanese company
Japan is a land famous for not only sushi and ninjas, but Karaoke too. It is no wonder that one of Singapore’s most prominent karaoke chain was bought over by a Japanese company, Koshidaka Holdings in February 2014.

Introducing a trend: Manekineko
Only some Kbox outlets are featuring Manekineko, a Japanese karaoke style. Its mascot features a cat gripping a microphone. Manekineko is a relatively new concept, and so far, it has 6 outlets around the island.

80 flavours in a drink machine?!?!
Exclusive at KBox’s Manekineko Marina Square, the Coca Cola drink machine features over 80 flavours, even fruity ones. You can make your selection on the touch screen machine. Just a warning, don’t get too carried away and spend more time at the drink machine than singing.

Very unfortunately, the personal data of over 300,000 customers of karaoke chain K Box Singapore have been posted online around September 2014. The leaked database contains their names, addresses and mobile phone and identity card numbers.

In April 2016, KBox released 2 videos.
In an attempt to boost public participation and increase awareness of their new outlets at their Manekineko Marina Square and Safra Punggol outlets, Kbox posted 2 videos on their Facebook site featuring a man singing…the effect is hilarious.

Manekineko is only at (OMG) $10
Only for their outlet at *Scape, price per head is only at $10! This includes free drinks, fresh popcorn, and 2 hours of Karaoke time. Just a tip, as Manekineko is a relatively new concept, you can be sure that there will be more of such outlets opening up around the island. Their opening promotion is usually $10 per session, so keep an eye out for any upcoming news from them!
