This popular Hallyu K-drama has taken Asia by storm. It’s romantic, aggressive, passionate and funny as hell. Here’re 10 funniest scenes in DOTS that makes you go “OH, OPPA SO FUNNY!”
Si Jin covering Mo Yeon with his jacket
This scene is still one of the best! Captain Yoo covers the drenched Mo Yeon with his uniform shirt as they both fell into the sea. He told her that her wet shirt is now see-through, and he doesn’t want others to see what he had seen. Leaving a freaked out and mad Mo Yeon behind, he then left with a grin, waving his hand.
Commanded his squad to return
How cute is our jealous Captain Yoo? He got totally annoyed that Mo Yeon is always looking at the topless soldiers running and commanded the squad to immediately stop their drills and return.
Cooking Samgyetang
These soldiers sure have their way of cooking Ginseng chicken. Si Jin did his part by stuffing a bottle cap in the chicken, thinking it was a red date or something. The way Dae Young contributes by ‘throwing’ his salt from that height is just…I seriously can’t.
Parcel from another girl
Watching the guys getting busted by their girlfriends are pretty funny. That moment when Mo Yeon told Wolf (Dae Young) via walkie that there was a parcel from some girl, both Sergeant Major Seo and Captain Yoo threw their documents in the air and ran like there was no tomorrow.
Using military night goggles to eat ramen
Yep, there were a countless number of times the lights in the Urk base would go off. And this led to Si Jin suggesting the use of night goggles to eat ramen. He even joked that Mo Yeon was born to be in the army since she was doing so well.
FEO on Min Yun Gi
Min Yun Gi is the doctor dude who supposedly played with Mo Yeon and Myeong Joo. Both of them revealed this thing they had with Min Yun Gi while eating ginseng chicken. Si Jin and Dae Young reacted by saying they’ll conduct Forced Entry Operations on Min Yun Gi. They even told each other killing him would be too easy and blowing him up with explosives would be too boring. How funny are these jealous Oppas!
Chi Hoon’s conversation with ‘Blackey’
This should be one of the most underrated funniest scenes. Chi Hoon gives ‘Blackey’ (nobody knows his name because of the communication barrier) a pair of sports shoe but Blackey doesn’t want them. Blackey wants a goat instead but Chi Hoon did not understand him. Chi Hoon continued his one-sided conversation with Blackey.
Si Jin saves Mo Yeon and Fatima
Captain Yoo saves the day once again when he went to find the kidnapped Mo Yeon and Fatima. After their successful escape, Si Jin told Mo Yeon how she had ALMOST killed him with her insane driving skills.
Fake landmine incident
Si Jin pranks Mo Yeon that she stepped on a landmine and she was going to die. A freaked out Mo Yeon asked him to quickly dismantle the landmine using a swiss knife and Si Jin told her that there was only one man in the world who could do that: the man who she watched in a movie.
‘I’ll have a million reports to write if I use my gun’
One thing about Big Boss–he hates reports. So he did what he does best, attacking the enemy with their own guns. He’ll never use his military gun unless he’s on a mission.
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
