10 signs that you’re an independent woman

You heard? It’s the 21st century, the rise of women and feminism. There are many kinds of women out there, but more prominently, the independent woman becomes more and more relevant to our modern day and age. She’s powerful, confident, beautiful, and of course, independent!

You hate cute stuff
Yuck, frills and lace are for premature girls. Why is pink THE colour and why must pink things come in cutesy patterns? Ew.

You’ll only sleep with feminists
It’s 2016. Men, it is ok to be a feminist and campaign for female rights, which are largely non-existent in more countries than one can count. The Male Chauvinistic Pig (MCP) totally turns you off.

You fully support Tsai Ing-wen’s comment
The new president of Taiwan purportedly said “I won’t buy the whole pig just for a sausage”.
You sit back, laugh and nod your head in agreement.

You admire people like Emma Watson and Taylor Swift
Worship them, they are the face of feminism. Heck, they are the model female species. Beautiful inside, confident and courageous. You wish and aspire to be like them!

You hate girls who cry too much
Crying is a sign of weakness and desolation, therefore you avoid them. Afterall who likes a weepy bitch? They’re associated with attention-seekingness, and yuck, as an intendent lady that’s the LAST thing you’ll want to be.

You have too much alone time…
Being independent means doing many things by yourself. You are good at what you do, and do not need additional help.

And you are perfectly happy!
Independence is commonly mistaken for loneliness. You get so angry when someone pities you when you’re alone.

You have big ideas
Being an independent woman means getting up, going up there based on your own efforts. You disregard people who want to sabo you, you focus your attention to yourself, not others. You aspire to do something good to the world with power you have achieved for yourself

You cry alone
Because crying is like, gross, you cry alone to avoid other people from seeing your vulnerable side. Being independent is a challenge, and sometimes, that challenge gets tough, and it’s totally okay to cry it out at night, alone! Just get back on your feet the next day, and be ready to surprise the world with what you have!

You’ll put off men for your dreams
One thing that makes girls falter and be dependent is the male species. It isn’t a bad thing to be too needy and attached to the man of your dreams, but independent women are self-directing, and having a guy around doesn’t mean they have whatever they want in their life. They continue the struggle for more recognition and greater things in life!
