Just yesterday, Jewel Changi Airport unveiled its latest attraction – a canopy rooftop park located five floors above ground and spans 14,000 sq m in size. After reading some of the updates about this park, we are pretty sure that this is going to be the next tourist attraction in Singapore.
Oh, and Changi Airport is going to stand a pretty good chance of being touted as the best airport in the world after this. Again.
1. The Canopy Rooftop Park is extremely huge and is scheduled to open in 2019
The Canopy Rooftop Park located at Jewel Changi Airport is built five floors above ground and spans 14,000 sq m in size – the size of 11 Olympic-size pools. It is scheduled to open in 2019.
2. Look out for the glass bridge!
Play attractions will be one of the greatest highlights of the rooftop park, which allow both children and adults to play at the same time. Remember to look out for the 50m-long Canopy Bridge, which will have glass panel flooring to show the view below!
3. There will be slides for us to play on!
The park features four slides, one at the main entrance, one which is inclined at 75 degrees, and another two that are spiral. The entire structure sits at an incline, 3m high on one end, and close to 7m on the other.
4. There will also be a ‘trampoline’ in place
Known as Sky Nets, there will also be both a bouncing and walking net in a single play attraction. This play attraction boasted the world’s first created structure on such a scale in an indoor environment. These two nets will come as an integration and both children and adults can play on them!
5. Maze attraction for both children and adults
Have got nothing to do before your flight? How about trying to escape from a maze? Other than slides and sky nets, there will also be two mazes in place at the Canopy Rooftop Park!
The first maze end on an elevated watch tower where visitors can get a bird’s eye view of the entire maze, while the second maze will feature mirror design elements with challenges at every turn! The goal will be for the visitors to get themselves out of the maze!
6. There will also be a designated play area for children to ‘play among clouds’
Children can also expect to have tons of fun at the Canopy Rooftop Park! One of it features the attraction called Foggy Bowls, which feature gentle concave bowls with depths ranging from 30 to 65cm. There will even be mists to create the experience of playing amongst clouds!
Where else can you play with…clouds?
7. There will be 1,400 trees and palms in the area
The Jewel will house one of the largest indoor collections of plants in Singapore. Well, isn’t that just so Singapore?
8. Look out for the Topiary Walk and Petal Garden!
The Topiary Walk will feature animal-shaped topiaries at the turn of every corner, while the Petal Garden will have seasonal floral displays!
9. There will be a 40-m indoor waterfall!
Known as the Rain Vortex, a 40m-tall indoor waterfall will even feature a light and sound show at night! Now you don’t need to go to Gardens by the Bay to see man-made waterfall in Singapore liao!
10. You might even be able to hold your events there!
The Canopy Plaza, where the food and beverage outlets will be located, will also have an events space big enough for 1,000 people. Who knows? You might even be able to attend or hold events there in the future!
