Vaseline, the most famous petroleum jelly brand in the world is not only cheap, but also has an endless list of beneficial uses.
Other than the common usage for chapped skin and lips, here are 10 others that you might not know of.
Make fragrances last longer
Dab a bit of Vaseline on your pulse points before spraying on your favourite fragrance. The moisturised skin will hold the scent better and make it last for a longer duration of time.
Minimise abrasions and blisters
For all the sports and fitness fanatics out there, we’re sure you can relate to the pain of abrasions during workouts. Apply some Vaseline to the chafed areas to reduce friction and prevent abrasions. The same method also works for feet blisters caused by a brand new pair of shoes.
Gentle eye makeup remover
Commercial makeup removers can be harsh on your delicate eye area, Vaseline is a gentler and cheaper alternative. Simply place some on a cotton pad and remove eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and even eyelash glue.
Make your eyelashes grow
Many have sworn that using Vaseline on their eyelashes every night have made them grow longer and thicker. A cheap and natural way to get those Kim Kardashian lashes!
Tame stray hairs
Flyaways can be a nuisance and make your hair look unruly. Apply a small amount of Vaseline to tame them.
Keep hair dye off your skin
If you’ve dyed your hair using DIY home kits before, you’ll know how difficult it is to remove the dye from your skin. Apply Vaseline along your hairline to prevent the hair dye from coming into contact with your skin.
Face highlighter
Vaseline adds a dewy glow to your skin. Apply some to your cheekbones for a healthy glow.
Protect a sore nose
Dealing with a running nose is bad enough, let alone having to endure the soreness from all the rubbing. Dab some Vaseline around the nostrils to introduce moisture back.
Protect sunburned skin
Paying the price of a sunburnt for forgetting to apply sunblock at the beach? Apply Vaseline generously over the sunburned areas to protect the skin from peeling.
Soothe diaper rash
Vaseline is beneficial for every age group, including babies. Apply some onto a clean cloth and use on a baby’s bottom to prevent and soothe diaper rash.
