As the days go by, we watch our cases fluctuate like a rollercoaster and the number of people that can dine out bounces from two pax to five pax as if a seesaw is controlling it.
Yesterday, we were at the low point of the rollercoaster.
2,304 COVID-19 Cases
2,304 COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday (13 Nov). The cases comprised 2,179 community cases, 120 dormitory resident cases, and five imported cases.
Among the local cases, 388 are seniors aged above 60 years old.
14 New COVID-19 Deaths
14 more COVID-19 cases have succumbed to the virus, bringing our death toll to 576.
The fatalities were aged between 61 and 94 and all of them, except for one partially vaccinated case, had various underlying medical conditions.
6 Large Clusters
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is closely monitoring six large and active clusters:
- Iman Childcare (Woodgrove)
- Banyan Home @ Pelangi Village
- Jenaris Home @ Pelangi Village
- Safari House Preschool (Toa Payoh)
- Institute of Mental Health (IMH)
- Surya Home
The largest active cluster is still IMH with 422 COVID-19 cases of which two of them were added recently. Of the 422 cases, 27 are staff members and 395 are patients.
The second-largest active cluster is Banyan Home @ Pelangi Village with five new cases. In total, there are 102 cases of which one of them is a staff and the rest are residents.
Iman Childcare at Woodgrove have 14 cases, there was transmission among staff and students. Two of the 14 cases were newly added cases. 12 students were infected and two of these cases were staff members.
Jenaris Home @ Pelangi Village has three new cases. 35 residents and two staff members were infected. In total, there were 37 cases.
Safari House Preschool in Toa Payoh has 14 cases in total, of which two of these cases were new. Of the 14 cases, three of them were staff members, nine of them were students and two of them were household contacts.
Surya Home have 24 cases in total, one of them is a new case. Of the 24 cases, three of them were staff and 21 of them were residents.
1,574 COVID-19 Cases in Hospitals; 123 in ICU
Currently, there are 1,574 COVID-19 cases warded in the hospitals, most of whom are well and under observation.
253 cases require oxygen supplementation in the general ward, 123 are in the intensive care unit, comprising 51 are unstable and under close monitoring and 72 are critically ill and intubated.
The current overall ICU utilisation rate is 66.3%.
2,539 were discharged over the past day, of which 389 were 60 years old and above.
As of 12 Nov, 85% of our population were fully vaccinated, 86% were partially vaccinated and 20% has received boosters.
MOH to Review Expiry Date of COVID-19 Vaccinated Status
As more data on boosters become available, MOH will review the expiry date of COVID-19 fully vaccinated status.
As of now, the duration is a year (365 days), counted from two weeks after the second dose. This is according to the Infectious Diseases (Mass Gathering Testing for Coronavirus Disease 2019) Regulations 2021.
This 365-day period was specified “in the interim” to allow those who have completed their two doses to be exempted from vaccination-differentiated safe management measures.
