A wise man once said this: life is short, you will never know what’s going to happen the next minute or even second, so live life to the fullest, without regrets.
You can be crossing the traffic light when it’s a green man, and a car might knock into you.
But for this lucky lady, it was a bus, not a car.
And she’s only a lucky lady, because lucky for her – obviously – she was saved by a selfless girl who happened to be at the scene.
A ‘Usual’ Bus Ride That Did Not Turn Out So Usual
According to a post by Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF), Diniy Qurratuaini was on her ‘usual bus ride’ home that very day.
However, the bus that she was in knocked into a pedestrian at Upper Changi Road, who became unconscious due to the impact.
Diniy immediately rendered help and asked a passenger to dial 995 while she was attending to the lady.
Sounds like a pretty normal thing to do?
Here’s the catch – Diniy is only 15 years old.
Here’s another catch – She performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the lady when she found that the lady had no pulse and wasn’t breathing.
Pretty sure even my boss, who’s trained in CPR during NS, would simply panic at that sight.
The Lady Brought Back To Life
After a few cycles of CPR, fortunately, the lady regained consciousness.
Despite that, Diniy stayed by her side until the ambulance arrived at the scene.
Recalling the incident, Diniy had said that she only realized the seriousness of the situation after she had told her parents about the incident and that she was glad she was there to provide help.
The kind girl had also thanked the National Civil Defense Cadet Corps (NCDCC) for teaching her the skills she can use in such a life-threatening situation. Yup, she’s a member of NCDCC in Temasek Secondary School.
SCDF had also praised the girl for her quick thinking and selflessness, and that this incident has shown that age is not a barrier to saving lives.
Not to forget, netizens are always in favour of this kind of news.
They flooded this girl with tons of praises, and she deserves them for sure.
This girl is definitely the MVP of 2019, and she, for sure, is going far with that kind and selfless heart of hers!
