Although we may have enjoyed the bloody and gory fight scenes in the recent remake of Mortal Kombat, the R-rated movie based on the equally violent, similarly-named video game, we never thought that we’d see something similar in real life in our little red dot.

A trail of blood 500 meters-long

As reported by Shin Min Daily News (新明日报), a 15-year-old boy was the victim of a knife attack at the multistorey carpark at Block 60A Toa Payoh.

The incident happened at around 6.39pm.

From what was gathered, it seems like there was a heated argument, which resulted in the four teenagers brandishing their knives and slashing at the 15-year-old.

The victim tried to escape the attack by running from the first floor of the carpark to the sixth, despite the bloody wounds he sustained from the initial attack.

The four assailants gave chase.

The victim left a bloody trail of around 500 meters long in his escape.

It was also speculated that at one point, the victim was almost thrown from the upper floor of the carpark by his aggressors, but thankfully that didn’t happen.

This is due to the fact that the reporter from the daily news saw multiple bloodstains on the walls of an open-air area on the sixth floor of the carpark.

It is possible that this was where the attackers caught up with the 15-year-old.

From the bloody footprints seen at the scene of the initial attack, it also seems like some of the teens may have been barefooted.

The police are investigating the case

All four of the perpetrators were successfully apprehended by the police.

The 15-year-old victim survived the attack and was rushed to the hospital.

He was conscious throughout the ordeal.

The police have yet to release an official statement regarding the matter but the case is definitely being investigated.

More will be revealed as the case develops.

From verbal to physical attacks

It was purported that the knife attack stemmed from an argument.

Based on the recent news, it also seems like knife attacks are on the rise in our little island state.

Just three days ago, a male employee viciously attacks a colleague at Fatty Weng Fish Soup for giving him advice. He slashed at her with a chopping knife, injuring her on her arms and neck.

In another knife fight, a 52-year-old angry hawker chopped off an uncle’s middle finger with a bread knife. Ouch.
