Do you remember the good old days heading to Downtown East with your family and friends, and spend the whole day at the now-defunct Escape Theme Park and Wild Wild Wet?
Remember The Water Works, sliding through the maze?
How about the Tsunami, holding on to your dear life when the artificial wave comes crashing in.
I used to lepak at the shiok river, located around the park.
Good times. Good times.
Now we are drowning (no pun intended) with work and family commitments.
Am I right, Millennials?
I think it’s time to head down to the east next month. You know why? To relive the good old days lah.
And also to try out two rides that will be opening on October 2.
Not one but two.
One of the new rides is called Vortex.
According to Channel NewsAsia, it is Singapore’s first high-speed 360-degree extreme loops ride.
Sounds like a roller coaster ride but with water.
It is 18.5 metres tall and it 135 metres long.
Looks like it is going to be a long ride. You will be travelling at 10m per second.
So if my math is right (most of the time it isn’t), the whole ride is 13.5 seconds (the same time I take to share 3 existential crisis memes on Facebook).
The second ride is Kraken Racers.
As the moniker suggests, you can race with your friends or family. It has four lanes, so you can bring out your competitive nature and try to be the first one to reach the end.
You will be racing down from a height of 12.8 metres tall and it is 91 metres long.
Don’t worry it is suitable for both children and adults.
I know I have been yapping and yapping.
So here is a video, for those who lack imagination.
2 new rides at Wild Wild Wet from Oct 2
Feel a constant need for speed? Wild Wild Wet's 2 new rides may be for you.
