Babysitting isn’t exactly everyone’s ideal job.
Admittedly, I’m one of those people who have slightly less patience with crying babies on planes.

Which is why I never took a babysitting job.

And if you did, you would likely know how hard taking care of someone else’s child is. It can be frustrating.
But under no circumstances should your anger affect your duties.
Or in this case, kill your housemate’s son.
An Act Of Cruelty
I always refuse to believe someone could kill an infant.
But doing this article infuriatingly proves me wrong.
A report by Astra Awani told of a 20-month-old baby who was abused to death by a group of four teenage girls in Semporna, Sabah.
The four girls, between 16 to 19 years old, were asked by their 23-year-old housemate to look after her son while she was away.
Mind you, she was also a single mother.

During her absence, witnesses had reported seeing the four teens commit several acts of physical abuse to the baby.
One of the girls had apparently stepped on the baby’s back after all of them had already slapped, kicked and thrown him onto a mattress.
They didn’t even stop there, dragging the child off the mattress even when his face hit the bed frame.
Police reports believe that the girls committed the act for the asinine reason of the baby crying non-stop.
Seriously, why the heck they even accepted the request is a mystery.

Discovery & Consequences
This next part is not going to be pretty, because we know the outcome.
On 20 September, the mother discovered that her baby seemed rather pale and was quickly growing weaker.
When rushed to Hospital Semporna, bruises on his body were found and he was in critical condition.
He passed away later that evening, unable to recover from the injuries.
Luckily, the innocent doesn’t suffer alone in this one.

The four girls have since been arrested, rightfully so may I add.
Reports claim that they are very regretful of their actions, and have been crying repeatedly since their lockup.
A quick reminder that I don’t know, crying doesn’t bring back the dead?
You just killed someone’s child, and robbed the kid of his whole life.
The group of four will likely be charged in the future for causing the death of a child.
My condolences to the mother and I hope her late child rests in peace. The others probably wouldn’t get a happy ending either.
