Discount Applies to Up to S$200 of Spending

There are some conditions to take note of before filling the trolley.

The discount applies to a maximum of S$200 in spending per receipt per day. In other words, the most a shopper can save through the 6% CHAS discount on one eligible S$200 receipt is S$12.

Certain purchases are excluded, including Stage 1 and Stage 2 infant formula, tobacco and alcohol products, shopping bag charges, phone cards and Sheng Siong gift vouchers.

CHAS cardholders can present either their physical or digital CHAS card when paying.

Sheng Siong’s existing senior citizen discount will meanwhile remain at 4%. Eligible seniors can continue to receive that discount on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Sheng Siong Previously Offered 8% CHAS Discount in June

The latest increase is not the supermarket chain’s first enhanced CHAS promotion this year.

Throughout June 2026, Sheng Siong temporarily doubled its then-4% CHAS discount to 8%. Blue cardholders received the discount on Thursdays, while Orange cardholders received it on Fridays. The rate subsequently returned to 4%.

The supermarket had introduced its 4% discount for CHAS Blue cardholders in March 2025, before extending the same rate to Orange cardholders from January 2026.

According to Sheng Siong, its senior citizen and CHAS discount programmes generated about S$7.5 million in customer savings in 2025.

Alongside the new 6% rate, Sheng Siong said it would continue offering purchase-with-purchase promotions on selected house-brand necessities, including rice and cooking oil.

The supermarket said the latest increase is intended to help households reduce their everyday grocery expenses.
