If you’ve ever eaten a McSpicy, you’d know that there are ups and downs in the digestion process.
The good part is the deliciousness in your mouth when you’re eating it, and the bad is the next day when some of your vital organs are being pushed out your butt.
Similarly, the COVID-19 pandemic is full of ups and downs. And yesterday, we finally had some good news after a torrent of new cases!
Of the nine new COVID-19 cases yesterday (28 Jun), just four new community cases were reported (that’s right: there were more imported cases than community cases yesterday). There were no unlinked cases as well.
Here are the details.
105 Henderson Crescent Cluster
The only cluster that grew yesterday is the one at 105 Henderson Crescent. So yep, the CGH cluster remains untouched for now.
The sole case added to this cluster is a 60-year-old Singaporean who works at Lam Chuan Import-Export Pte Ltd. He was placed on quarantine on 26 June after being identified as a family member and household contact of previous cases.
He is asymptomatic, and was tested on 26 June during quarantine. His test result came back positive the next day. His serology test result is negative for the N antigen, which suggests the presence of early infection.
The man has been fully vaccinated, having received his first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on 3 April and the second dose on 24 April.
Other Linked Cases
Besides that, there are three new cases with established links to previous cases. They are:
- A 37-year-old Singaporean man who is employed by Best Denki as a television installer
- An 81-year-old Singaporean man who is a retiree
- A 56-year-old Singaporean man who works as an engineer at PUB (80 Toh Guan Road)
The 56-year-old has been fully vaccinated, having received his first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on 1 March and the second dose on 22 March.
Imported Cases
Another five cases from abroad were part of the daily case count yesterday. They are:
-
Two Singaporeans who returned from Pakistan
-
One Student’s Pass holder who arrived from Indonesia
-
One Work Permit holder who arrived from Indonesia
-
One who entered Singapore waters from Indonesia without valid documentation. He was arrested by the Singapore Police Force (SPF)’s Police Coast Guard (PCG), and tested for COVID-19 infection during isolation.
All had been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore.
135 Cases in Hospitals
At the moment, there are 135 COVID-19 cases still in hospitals, most of whom are stable of improving. Three are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
Another 170 cases with lower risk factors or mild symptoms are isolated and cared for at community facilities.
17 more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities recently.

They are:
- JEM/Westgate Cluster
- Chevy’s Bar and Bistro Cluster
- Case 63892 Cluster, of which the first to be identified was a manager at Phoenix Entertainment Karaoke TV Music Lounge
