Are you a big fan of durians? Or is a whiff of durian enough to send you running the opposite direction?
Regardless of your preference, we all know that durian is here to stay.
In this particular case, a Malaysian woman intended to ship a box of frozen durian from Malaysia to Hong Kong. However, it was being detained by the Customs Department.

I guess this box of durian is surely here to stay.
Drugs Found Inside Durians
A 34-year-old woman allegedly arranged for the shipment of not one, not two, not three, but 20 Styrofoam boxes to Hong Kong. These were declared to contain frozen durians.
However, there was something suspicious about it that resulted in the custom officers raiding the cargo company that was responsible for shipping these boxes.
According to Malay Mail, the raid at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang was successful, as custom officers discovered heroin inside the frozen durians.
Yes, inside these durians.
According to Datuk Zulkarnain Mohamed Yusuf, the Central Zone Customs assistant director-general, four of the boxes were found with white-coloured compact packets wrapped in clear plastic.
This Heroin was found to weigh 6.13kg, and is valued at RM953,529 (Approximately SGD $310K).
The Verdict
The woman is now currently placed in remand for five days for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. As the saying goes, you’ll have to pay a price for your misdeeds.

The operation was conducted by a team from the Central Zone (Selangor) investigation unit II division. I got to say, kudos to this team for being successful in their drug sting.
Though I am still stunned at how the woman managed to think of such an idea to smuggle drugs.
As out of the box as her ideas are, nothing escapes the eyes of Customs Department, even if it’s inside a box (irony) of frozen durians.
This is why kids, never try to fool the authorities. You will get caught eventually.
