Someone Abandoned 4 Cats at HDB, With 2 of Them Being ‘Atas’ Cats

Why would anyone spend money on multiple cats, only to abandon them all?

Rescuers are currently trying to find adopters for two of these furballs, and perhaps you could give them their fur-ever home.

Cats Abandoned at Casa Clementi, Checked by Vet to be Healthy

Facebook user Huang Jeslyn shared in the group Sayang Our Singapore’s Community Cats about how she found four abandoned cats at Casa Clementi HDB.

She added a collage of the four cats, captioning it, “Are they just old furniture you throw away? I wish Singapore was more strict with their punishment. Thee’s no punishment for people that abandoned them.”

Just by looking at their long fur, you can tell that they were probably bought from a store or breeder, and aren’t your typical HDB stray.

The rescuers found the cats abandoned in cages at the HDB’s void deck, amongst other piles of rubbish.

The rescuers promptly took them to the vet, which assessed the cats and found them to have tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukaemia virus (FeLV).

These healthy kitties were vaccinated, sterilised, and treated with anti-parasitic medicine, so any potential adopters wouldn’t have to worry about their health.

Managed to Find Foster Families, Looking for Fur-ever Home

All four of the cats are now living in foster families.

One foster family is going to adopt two of the cats, namely the ginger three-year-old male, and the white and brown five-year-old male Ragamuffin Cross.

However, this leaves a brown three-year-old Ragamuffin Cross, and a five-year-old grey tabby without a permanent home.

The grey tabby is described as very affectionate, or “super manja”.

If anyone is keen to adopt the two cats, you can contact Ms Huang on Facebook.

Netizens React

Needless to say, many Facebook users were angry with the person that abandoned their cats.

Many berated them for treating their cats like used furniture, saying that pets are part of our family too.

However, some commenters also noted how well-loved these cats look, and wondered what happened to their previous owner.

Regardless of what the owner’s reasons are, one should never abandon their pets like this. What if nobody cared to check the cages?

All of us fellow cats at Goody Feed hopes that the felines will find their fur-ever home soon.
