As a parent, you have certain responsibilities when it comes to your child.
You have to make sure they support the correct football team, teach them how to be the best football player ever, and tell them that failure is not an option.
OK, maybe I’m projecting my own football aspirations onto my yet-to-be-born child.

What you actually have to do as a parent is to ensure that your child is taken care of throughout the day. A young child is not equipped to take care of their own needs and be independent. They’re also not aware of the dangers in everyday life. So they might do something stupid.
Like falling off the balcony of a 10th-floor apartment.
Boy falls 10 floors and survives
In Bangkok, Thailand, a four-year-old boy fell down 10 floors from an apartment’s balcony last Thursday (3 October).
Miraculously though, the boy survived.
Here’s what happened:
According to the China Press, the boy was left alone with his brother. Now, unless this brother was at least 12 years older than him, that’s not exactly a great idea.
At some point during the day, the young boy’s brother left to go to the community pool of their apartment unit to play. I don’t know why he thought it’d be a good idea, but then again, kids aren’t exactly known for being responsible.
So, like any other 4-year-old, this boy wanted to explore the world around him. He then climbed over the iron railing of his apartment balcony and fell down ten floors.

The incident was captured by CCTV cameras in the area, and was uploaded online by Kwong Wah Yit Poh, a Malaysian Chinese newspaper. Here’s the footage:
As you can see, this boy is not human. He falls down with a thunderous thud through a plastic table but is soon picked up from a stranger like he was taking a nap.
However, the boy later said that his left hand was injured and that the bruises on his legs hurt a lot.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment and will be examined for internal injuries.

So how did the boy survive?
No one knows. Some speculate that the impact of his fall may have been absorbed by the surrounding trees and shelters of vendor stalls on the ground floor.
Others believe he is a mutant from the Marvel universe.
Either way, we hope that the boy did not sustain any serious injuries and that he is returned home soon.
Also, to any parents reading this, I know taking care of a child must make you want to pull your hair out sometimes, but please remember that they’re naive little creatures unaware of the dangers around them.
So, never leave them home alone, especially with a brother who really enjoys swimming.
