Domestic Helper Jailed 6 Months After Abusing Child And Lying About It
27-year-old War War Myint Aung pleaded guilty to one count of ill-treating a child and will be serving a jail term of six months.
On 12 April last year, her employer’s 19-month-old son was left in her care while they brought their other son out of the house at around 7am.
After the boy was fed lunch, he started crying and no matter what War War Myint Aung did, he wouldn’t stop. Frustrated, she held him by his hand and beat him multiple times with a clothes hanger that she took from the toilet.
When her employer saw the bruises on her son’s right cheek, she asked what happened, to which War War Myint Aung lied and said that he fell down in the master bedroom while she was in the toilet.
Her employer didn’t believe her and ultimately called the police to report the incident.
