10 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed

10 more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Singapore, bringing our national total number of people infected to 160.

Six of the new cases are linked to the Safra Jurong cluster, and with 36 cases linked to it in total, it is currently Singapore’s largest COVID-19 cluster.

Three others are believed to be imported cases, and the remaining case is linked to The Life Church and Missions cluster.

CCK Preschool Closes Temporarily After Student Tests Positive For COVID-19

According to the Ministry of Health, a five-year-old boy has been confirmed to be the youngest patient in the Safra Jurong cluster of COVID-19 cases.

As such, the pupil’s school which is the Choa Chu Kang branch of The Orange Tree Preschool will be closed from Tuesday to 20 March.

The boy’s family member is known as Singapore’s Case 145 and was last at the preschool on 6 March.

The Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) said that the school is currently undergoing thorough cleaning and disinfection, and the agency will closely monitor the health of all pupils and staff.

24YO Student Allegedly Installs Hidden Camera In NUS Women’s Toilet; Gets Arrested

A 24-year-old National University of Singapore (NUS) student was arrested for allegedly entering a women’s toilet in an NUS residential college and installing a hidden camera.

Two spy cameras were found in two women’s toilets on the same floor in the college.

He does not live in the residential college and most likely stayed overnight as a guest of one of the college’s residents.

He will be investigated for criminal trespass and suspected voyeurism.

New Garden Opened At Telok Blangah Hill Park

A new garden has opened at Telok Blangah Hill Park and it welcomes all visitors to de-stress. It is also designed with the nearby eldercare centres and senior activity centres in mind.

The National Parks Board (NParks) will organise therapeutic horticulture programmes that aim to stimulate the participants’ senses and memories as well as encourage motor and hand-eye coordination.

NParks hopes to have more therapeutic gardens in Singapore, with their main target of bringing these kinds of gardens to six more parks this year, namely Sembawang Park, Yishun Pond Park, Punggol Waterway Park, Pasir Ris Park, Bedok Reservoir Park, and Jurong Lake Gardens.

58YO Hairdresser Tended To 10 Customers While Ill With COVID-19

A 58-year-old hairdresser was one of the 12 newly confirmed cases on Sunday, and it was found that she tended to 10 customers in her home salon in Jurong West Street 74 from Tuesday to Sunday despite developing symptoms, but claimed that she did wear a mask.

She is linked to the Safra Jurong cluster and she started to have a blocked nose on Tuesday. According to her, she did tell her customers that she wasn’t feeling well but her customers reassured her that they don’t mind and that they will be fine.

She is currently helping MOH with contact tracing and ensuring that all her customers get informed and will take the necessary precautions to monitor their health and practise social distancing.
