SFA Recalls Bouchot Live Mussels From France Because Of Norovirus

Bouchot live mussels were imported into Singapore by Classic Fine Food(s). When European authorities called for a product recall because of the presence of norovirus, Singapore Food Agency immediately issued one too.

Norovirus can cause gastroenteritis, which causes the stomach and intestines to become inflamed. Common symptoms are diarrhoea or vomiting.

Anyone who has the above symptoms and have recently eaten live mussels should see a doctor immediately.

PUB Will Start Installing 300,00 Smart Water Meters At 7 Locations In 2021

With the installation of smart water meters, residents and business owners will be able to monitor their consumption of water and use it more efficiently starting next year.

These smart meters are connected to a web portal where customers can view their real-time water usage data. They can also get notified of high usage or leaks.

The seven locations that these will be installed at are Bukit Batok, Hougang, Jurong West, Tampines, Tampines North, Tengah, and Tuas.

13YO Girl Falls To Death From 6-Storey Carpark; Kids Frequently Play There

According to residents in the nearby blocks, children who are mostly without adult supervision often play at the multi-storey carpark in Pasir Ris because of the upper levels usually being quite empty.

Children in their school uniforms are seen to often be cycling around the upper floors of the carpark during the late afternoon on weekdays. Those who were older were seen practising parkour on the roof garden.

Just a few days ago, a 13-year-old girl fell to her death after her bicycle collided with a railing on the sidewall that measured to be about one metre tall.

3 Stations On Thomson-East Coast Line Now Open For Preview

Woodlands North, Woodlands, and Woodlands South stations have now been opened to the public ahead of time for the public to familiarise themselves with the different entrances and exits. Passenger service will begin on 31 January.

The Woodlands North station is one of the biggest out of the 32 stations on the Thomson-East Coast Line to accommodate the huge crowd during peak periods for those travelling between Singapore and JB via the RTS Link which will be adjacent to the station.

Serangoon Central Residents Trapped In Flat By Bicycle Locks, Police Investigating

Residents at a unit in Block 209 Serangoon Central found themselves trapped in their home for two days in a row when they found two bicycle locks on their front gate.

One of them found them at around 2.30pm on 8 January and was unable to leave her home.

After the incident was reported to the police, they came and helped to cut through the locks.

However, another bicycle lock was found to be on their gate at around 6.50am the next morning. Police investigations are ongoing.
