Man Accused of Raping 2 Teenage Girls Soils Himself In Court

A 49-year-old man accused of raping two 14-year-old girls defecated in his clothes just before his High Court trial started on Tuesday (Jan 14).

He refused to change out of his soiled clothes.

Even after being warned by the judge for obstructing court proceedings, Isham Kayubi went on to smear faeces on a glass panel of the dock while a witness was on the stand.

Isham is charged with sexual offences against two unrelated victims in separate incidents after luring them to his Jurong West flat, where he lives alone.

Logistics Firm To Be Charged With False Declaration On Fair Hiring of Singaporeans

Ti2 Logistics has become the first company to be charged in court with making a false declaration that it had considered local candidates fairly before trying to employ a foreigner.

The firm was charged on Tuesday (14 Jan) after they claimed they interviewed two Singapore citizens and considered local candidates fairly for the position even though this was not true.

Those convicted of offences under the Foreign Manpower Act can be jailed for up to two years, fined $20,000, or both.

Three People Arrested For Allegedly Entering Singapore Illegally By Boat

Three people were arrested on Sunday night (12 Jan) for allegedly entering Singapore illegally under the Immigration Act.

The suspects were a 44-year-old Indonesian man, a 41-year-old Indonesian woman, and a 39-year-old Malaysian man.

The Malaysian man is also being investigated for allegedly smuggling illegal immigrants into the country.

Anyone found guilty of illegal entry into Singapore can be jailed for up to six months and get at least three strokes of the cane.

Online Registration For 2021 MOE Kindergarten Enrolment Starts Feb 7

The online registration for children entering Kindergarten 1 next year will start on 7 Feb, 2020.

A total of 36 Ministry of Education (MOE) kindergartens will be open for registration.

For this year’s registration exercise, parents can register their children online from 9am on Feb 7 to 4pm on Feb 11.

Parents will be informed of the registration outcome by March 31.

First Singaporean Charged With Funding Terrorism Sentenced To Nearly 3 Years’ Jail

The first Singaporean here to be charged with terror financing was sentenced to nearly three years’ jail, or 33 months on Tuesday (14 Jan).

Imran Kassim, a 36-year-old former logistics professional, had transferred $450 through remittance company Western Union to Mohamad Alsaied Alhmidan in Turkey for his publication of ISIS propaganda.

The United States government lists Mohamad Alsaied as a specially designated national, and says he is linked to ISIS.
