Man Jailed For Threatening To Post Nude Photo Of Ex-Lover & Hurling Vulgarities At Police

34-year-old man, Simon Subramaniam, ended his relationship with a lady in July 2017.

However, over the next three months, he reportedly harassed his former girlfriend and threatened to post her nude photos online.

On 27 May 2018, he was arrested for shouting at the top of his voice at a policeman. He continued to do so even after being arrested.

Subramaniam was sentenced to 10 weeks’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to four charges. These include causing alarm by using threatening words, committing a rash act endangering the personal safety of others, behaving in a disorderly manner, and using abusive words on a public servant.

S’pore Dad Allegedly Raped Daughter After Alcohol; Threatened To Slash Her With Penknife

A 52-year-old Singaporean man was on trial on Tuesday, 17 September 2019, for raping and assaulting his 27-year-old biological daughter three years ago.

The two parties were said to be drinking together when the victim fell asleep. When she felt someone touching her, she woke up and found that it was her father.

The father then forced her to commit indecent acts with threats of causing her harm.

The victim is currently diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Trial for the case will continue for the rest of the week and if convicted, the man faces up to 20 years of jail.

S’pore Ranked 4th In List Of Countries With Worst Air Quality

As of 18 September 2019, 12:14 pm, Singapore is reported to rank 4th in terms of worst air quality and pollution.

Singapore was initially in the 16th place on Monday morning, 16 September 2019. However, she went up to sixth place on Tuesday morning.

Fortunately, in Singapore, no deaths due to the haze condition have been reported.

However, the National Environmental Agency (NEA) is advising all Singaporeans to avoid sporting activities or any form of outdoor activities should the haze reach “very unhealthy” range.

NEA advised that the N95 mask is not necessary yet as it is only needed when the PSI value hits hazardous levels.

Geylang Shophouse Units Involved In Fire Were Overcrowded

Two shophouse units in Geylang Lorong 4 damaged in a fire on Sunday were overcrowded, a Manpower Ministry spokesman said on 17 September.

The spokesman also mentioned that while dorms were only supposed to house six workers, 14 workers were identified.

Authorities are currently investigating any potential illegal occupants.

Under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, employers are required to ensure safe and proper accommodation for their foreign workers.

Those who fail to do so can be fined up to $10,000, or jailed for up to one year, or both, for each worker housed in unsafe or overcrowded conditions.

Education Centre Managing Director Jailed After Cheating Companies Of Items Worth $340k

Managing director of Seoul Education Centre, An Dae Kee, 38, was sentenced on 18 September to 3½ years’ jail.

He duped seven companies into delivering items worth more than $340,000.

To cheat his victims, An pretended to be an organisation representative from the education group Eton House and integrated lifestyle firm Amara Holdings.

He then negotiated the orders via e-mail, phone calls and text messages. The victims, after agreeing to the terms, would deliver the goods to An.

Court documents stated that An had made partial restitution of more than $77,000.
