19YO Nanyang Polytechnic Student Pleads Guilty To Taking Upskirt Photos

19-year-old Nanyang Polytechnic student Chiang Wei Sheng pleaded guilty in court to three counts of insulting a woman’s modesty.

He first took upskirt photos on 21 March this year of a lady victim who was climbing the stairs in front of him at Jurong East MRT Station. Six days later, he did the same at Singapore Expo to a lady who was going up the escalator.

He was only caught on 9 April at Sembawang MRT Station by a 28-year-old lady who felt something brush against her inner thigh as she was going up the escalator. As she turned, she met face-to-face with Chiang who had his mobile phone under her dress.

Singapore Prison Service Talks About The Gang Renunciation Ceremony That Takes Place In Prison

A gang renunciation ceremony takes place every once in a while in Changi Prison. This ceremony is meant for gang members to sever all ties with all the secret societies they were once a part of.

This isn’t something talked about very often and takes a lot of courage from these gang members as they know that when they give a speech in front of the whole auditorium, some of the other prisoners from the same gang will see them as traitors.

24YO PMD Rider Arrested Following Assault On Pedestrian Along Yio Chu Kang Road

A month ago on 26 November, a victim had reported an incident where he was in a dispute with an unknown PMD rider along Yio Chu Kang road. He later added that the PMD rider assaulted him and as a result, he suffered injuries to his face.

After the Ang Mo Kio Police Division did their investigation, they found the man and arrested him along Hougang Road on Tuesday.

If convicted, the accused could be jailed up to seven years, get caned and fined.

High Passing Rate For N-Level Results 2019

The N-level results were released in the afternoon of 19 December and more than three in four Normal Academic stream students were qualified to be promoted to Secondary 5 next year.

There were 9,752 students from the stream who took the N-level examination, and almost all of them passed all their subjects, with a high passing rate of 99.5%.

The results for Normal Technical stream students were also good in the sense that there was an increase in passing rate from last year, from 97.5% to 98.1%.

Off-Duty Officer Subdues Man Despite Being Assaulted By Him With Knuckle Duster

22-year-old Sergeant Pang Lin Tong was waiting for a cab back home at 4am on 1 December when he noticed a man chasing a group of men and women with a knuckle duster on his hand.

He approached the man slowly and tried to calm him down, but he kept hurling vulgarities and threatening to hit Sgt Pang. The seemingly intoxicated man then struck Sgt Pang with two punches on the face as he calls out to the rest of the group to call the police.

The man later walks off and Sgt Pang follows him, albeit at a distance. When he was heard calling for backup, the man punches Sgt Pang one more time above his left ear, and that was when he subdued him and revealed himself to be a police officer.

He pinned the attacker to the ground and waited for backup to arrive.
