COE Prices Across the Board Dropped

If you’re eyeing for a new car, yesterday wasn’t a good time, today isn’t a good time and tomorrow won’t be a good time as well. Not even when the prices across the board have dropped, because it’s still expensive AF.

Cat A, which is for small cars, dropped from $32,725 to $31,917. Cat B, which is for bigger cars, dropped from $40,001 to $38,602. Commercial vehicles’ COEs dropped from $27,800 to $26,501, while motorbikes’ COEs dropped from $4,400 to $$4,301.

The open category, which can be used for any vehicle, dropped from $40,512 to $40,002.

Mother-&-Daughter Duo Sentenced to 10 Days’ Jail for Shoplifting Spree

Yesterday, Fong Leok Moy, 68, and Wong Phuay Yee, 41, a mother and her daughter, stole about $300 worth of footwear from FitFlop in Wisma Atria and for some reason, went back to the store a week later only to be recongised by a sales assistant.

Soon, they admitted to having been on a shoplifting spree from various shops in Orchard Road. They were sentenced to 10 days’ jail each and will start their sentence from 29 August 2019.

“Sugar Daddy” Jailed for Having Sex with 14YO Girl in Disabled Toilets

Muhammad Asraf Mustaffa met a 14YO through Telegram in 2017 and formed a relationship with the girl. The girl had asked Asraf to be her “sugar daddy” and claimed that she wasn’t a virgin. They then had consensual sex in disabled toilets.

Asraf pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual penetration of a minor yesterday, with another four charges taken into consideration, and was sentenced to 11 months’ imprisonment.

Fire Broke Out in SGH on Monday (19 August) That Led to the Evacuation of 70 people

It was reported yesterday that on Monday at about 1:50 p.m., a fire had broken out in at Basement 1 of Block 2 in SGH, leading to the activation of the fire alarm. It was a small fire that burned itself out when firefighters arrived.

However, for safety purposes, 70 people were evacuated. The fire was caused by a scanner that had overheated.
