Car On ECP Catches Fire After Crashing Into Divider
A car caught fire in the middle of the East Coast Parkway (ECP) after it crashed into the road divider on Saturday morning (4 Jan).
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), two people were examined for injuries by its paramedics but they refused its offer to take them to hospital.
The fire was eventually put out by its officers using two water jets.

69YO Woman On E-Bike Dies After Accident With Red Maserati At Cantonment Road
A 69-year-old woman died after an accident involving a Maserati on Sunday (5 Jan) morning. The accident occurred along Cantonment Road, outside The Pinnacle@Duxton.
The police were alerted to the accident at 5.25am.
The woman, who was riding a power-assisted bicycle, was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
The 25-year-old driver of the Maserati was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.

Funeral Parlour Suspended, To Be Charged After Wrong Body Was Cremated
Harmony Funeral Care, a funeral home, will be barred from using government after-death facilities after it cremated the wrong body.
The funeral home will be suspended until it can prove it has taken measures to prevent a repeat of such a situation, said the National Environment Agency (NEA) on Saturday (4 Jan).
NEA investigations found that the company had insufficient measures in place to ensure the proper handling of the body, which resulted in the “egregious error”.
The mix-up is believed to be the first reported case of a wrong body being cremated in Singapore.

First Suspected Case Of Wuhan Pneumonia Reported In S’pore
The Ministry of Health said on Saturday (4 Jan) that it had been notified of the first suspected case of the mystery Wuhan virus in Singapore.
The case involves a three-year-old girl from China who had pneumonia and a travel history to the Chinese city of Wuhan.
She had been warded for further assessment and treatment, and isolated as a precautionary measure, said the ministry.
At least 44 people have been affected by the disease in China.

$1.1 Million Worth Of Drugs Seized From Two Suspected Drug Traffickers
Around $1.1 million worth of drugs were seized from two suspected drug traffickers this week, said the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Saturday (4 Jan).
The first suspect, a 39-year-old Singaporean man, was arrested on Thursday near Pasir Ris Drive 1.
CNB officers later found 2,009 Ecstasy tablets and 4,000 Erimin-5 tablets in his car.
The second suspect, a 23-year-old Singaporean male, was arrested near Lorong 16 Geylang the next day.
Officers found a total of 60g of heroin, 854g of ketamine, 8.6kg of Ice, 2,800 Ecstasy tablets and 2,919 Erimin-5 tablets in his car boot.
