Just a week after the horror crash at Lucky Plaza that claimed two lives, another fatal accident took place.

A 69-year-old woman died after an accident involving a Maserati on Sunday (5 Jan) morning. The accident occurred along Cantonment Road, outside The Pinnacle@Duxton.

According to The Straits Times, the police were alerted to the accident at 5.25am.

The woman, who was riding a power-assisted bicycle, was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.

The 25-year-old driver of the Maserati was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.

Photos of the accident that were later uploaded online show the bloody aftermath of the accident.

One photo shows the stationery Maserati facing the direction that is against traffic.

What allegedly happened

Now, I must stress the word “allegedly” here because Goody Feed cannot confirm if these details are true.

SG Road Vigilante pieced together what happened based on some eyewitness testimonies.

Eyewitnesses claim that the driver of the Maserati was drunk and driving against traffic when he slammed into the 69-year-old woman who was crossing the traffic light.

They claim that a yellow car then ran over the woman who was knocked down shortly after and sped off.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Take extra care on the roads

If you’re still drinking and driving despite all the accidents that have occurred as a result, then you really do deserve to be behind bars.

Drivers should be extra careful on the road, but pedestrians should keep a lookout, too, because there are idiots out there in cars who have no regard for the safety of others.

Even when you’re crossing a zebra crossing, it’s a good habit to look out for speeding cars that are heading your way. If they’re coming at an alarmingly high speed, you should refrain from crossing, even though you technically have the right of way.
