Taxi Collides With Car At Raffles Place; 62YO Cabby Taken To Hospital

A taxi and a car collided in front of the AIA Tower near Raffles Place MRT station on Wednesday morning.

Both vehicles were lodged together, with the car lying on its side.

The injuries to both men were not serious, but the  62-year-old taxi driver was taken to Singapore General Hospital.

Singaporean Man Among Three Missing While Diving in Indonesia

A Singaporean man has gone missing while diving in waters off Pulau Sangiang in Banten, Indonesia on Sunday (Nov 3).

Two other divers have gone missing as well; both are Chinese nationals.

The three missing divers were part of a group of seven that were on holiday at Pulau Sangiang. Six of them went on a group diving excursion around the island while one was snorkeling.

The six divers were divided into two groups of three. The first group returned safely, while the second group went missing.

NParks: S$5,000 Fine For PMD Users Who Ride On Grass

Personal mobility device (PMD) users who attempt to circumvent the new footpath ban by riding on grass could be fined up to S$5000.

The National Parks Board (NParks) cited the Parks and Trees Act, saying it is an offence to ride PMDs on the grass alongside sidewalks without permission.

This is because PMDs such as e-scooters can damage the turf, leading to soil erosion. This statement came after numerous videos showing PMD users riding on the grass were uploaded on social media.

PMD Catches Fire While Charging Outside Hougang Flat

On the same day that a footpath ban was announced for all Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs), a fire related to a personal mobility device (PMD) broke out outside an HDB flat in Hougang.

The fire appears to have been caused by a non-UL2272 certified PMD that was charging in a corridor at Block 927 Hougang Street 91.

The two residents of the flat were examined by an SCDF paramedic but they refused to be taken to hospital.

SFA Appeals For Information On Video Of Chicken Sausages With White Worms

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is appealing for more information after a video on YouTube alleged that a popular brand of frozen chicken sausages bought here contained white worms.

In the video, two men and a woman discuss and show the white worms that fill the water that the sausages are soaked in.

The sausages are from Valley Chef, a United States brand.

They then repeat the experiment, emptying and refilling the bowl with water to show viewers that the white worms in the water came from the sausages.
