The day, or weekend to be exact, we have long been waiting for has finally arrived! After suffering through so many weekends with just two measly days, we finally have a three-days break to go wild and do #YOLO things for two whole days instead of one. And because it’s so rare that you get to skip Monday blues, you’ll want to leave this weekend behind without thinking: oh, why did I waste my long weekend away, right?
If you, like us, love your weekend so much, you will want to treasure it. What better way to treasure this long-awaited holiday than to spend it productively. And when we say productively, it comes with an open and close quote.
No, we’re not going to ask you to pick up a new hobby, learn a new skill or even clean up your room. Instead, we’re going to tell you about 10 awesome events or places you must make your way to in order to feel like your weekend was well-spent.
M1 Movie Sundays
Ask any sane person and he or she will tell you that on Sundays, they will want to sleep in because they have to wake up early the next day for work. This long weekend gives you the perfect excuse to wake up early on Sunday because you can sleep in the next day instead.
If you’re a M1 user, why not drag your body to the nearest Shaw theatre that offer M1 Sunday promotions and get the 1-for-1 movie ticket promotion for you and your significant other? Remember to bring along your latest M1 bill, your NRIC and be ready to provide details to prove you are who you say you are. Be sure to reach early because it’s only valid to the first 450 M1 customers across all 8 shaw theatres.
Manekineko @ Marina Square & Safra Punggol
Always wanted to indulge in your inner singer together with friends? How about screeching your way through an enjoyable (for you, maybe not for your friends) K-session at the price of $10 with unlimited drinks and tidbits?
Manekineko has their opening promo at these new outlets, and if you have not been there yet, you should go! Because $10 for 2-hours singing, coupled with free-flow drinks, tidbits and ice-cream is going to blow your mind, if not your vocal chords. 30 April is the last day of their opening promo before they go back to normal rates.
TEMT Grand Opening Sale (@50% off storewide)
Ladies, you are going to want to hear this. Have you heard of TEMT? They are located in shopping malls like Westgate, and sell clothes at prices so cheap you’ll rub your eyes and go whattt? Yes, we’re serious: when we happened to pass by their outlet in Westgate, clothes were going for as cheap as $10.
Guess what? For their new outlet at Plaza Singapura, they are having a Grand Opening Sale where everything is 50% off. You have to see it to believe it. On a separate note, their clothes are catered to skinnier people. Just saying.
Challenger @ Funan Mall
Tech geeks and non-tech people alike, if you happened to miss the IT show that took place just recently, fret not! If you have not known, Funan Mall is going to be closed for 3 years for redevelopment, and that means Challenger will have to bid goodbye to their flagship store there as well.
Challenger @ Funan Mall is holding a “Everything Must Go” sale where you can see items going for as high as 80% off. If you’re in need of an electronic item, why not check this place out?
Phoon Huat Warehouse Sale
Are you a fan of baking? Or maybe you’re looking to get into it because your bae loves eating cake and cookies, and you realize that baking it yourself is so much more cost effective than bringing her out to binge?
Well, whatever your reason, you will not want to miss this awesome sale by wholesale supplier of baking products, Phoon Huat where you can expect everything to be at 15% off from 30 Apr to 2 May 2016. Even better, you can enjoy a further 1.5% rebate if you pay in cash. Time to get that vanilla extract you’ve been eyeing for so long.
Gardens By The Bay Conservatories
Are you a fan of Gardens by the Bay? How about bringing your other half into the conservatories for a breathtaking view of full-bloomed tulips at the Tulipmania exhibition 2016?
And here’s something worth mentioning: if you are a NTUC member, you can get 1-for-1 admission to the conservatories as well starting from 1 May 2016. Here is what you need to know!
With so many exciting events taking place on this long weekend, it’s a waste to while it away at home, right? Check these 6 places out for a weekend you’ll never forget!
You can thank us later!
