7-Eleven New Potato Chips Review: Flavours So Good They’re Better Than Trump-Kim Summit

Oh guys, if there is another thing you should know about me, it’s that I love snacks.

Snack time is the bombdiggs and it is never complete without some chippies.

And I love, love, love trying new flavours of chips. If you ask me what my ultimate favourite is though, I’ll have to say sour cream and sweet chilli.

If you haven’t tried it, please do. The brand I get is Red Rock Deli.

Anyway, being such a huge fan of the chippies, you can imagine my excitement when 7-Eleven sent us their new chips flavours that are now available exclusively in 7-Eleven stores

These flavours are made and shipped straight from the good ol’ USA!

And these are the 8 flavours that are going to be released.

I’m going to be telling you whether the new flavours are worth getting or not. And to do that, I’m gonna be eating a ton of chips while I write this.

*grabs a handful of chips and shoves it in my mouth*

The first flavour would be the Buffalo Chicken Dip.

First of all, I love how they are wavy potato chips. They are my favourite kind so automatically plus 10 points for this.

Just a warning, they look super spicy too.

Okay, I don’t know what the deal is with that reddish tinge, but it makes Singaporeans so excited. At least it got me so excited.

Let’s move on to taste. It tastes pretty much like that buffalo sauce you’ll find on buffalo wings. You know what I’m talking about?

But with one huge exception.

These chips are SOUR. And the more you eat, the sourer it gets.

If you’re a fan of really sour chips, you’ll love this. Personally, my eye was twitching after eating the 8th chip, so I probably wouldn’t be reaching for this bag.

Creamy Ranch Tortilla Chips.

I have to admit. Tortilla Chips aren’t my favourite type of chips. I love them in nachos, but other than that…nah.

These tortilla chips are thin and they look like the ones that come in nachos dishes. You know, those served in Mexican restaurants in Singapore.

Creamy ranch tastes…interesting. It’s nothing like you would expect. It is creamy, but it doesn’t really taste like any ranch sauce I’m familiar with.

Maybe it’s a US thing?

It reminded me of eating those Marie biscuits actually. It has a slightly sweet flavour profile with a sour tinge at the end.

It’s the kind where you eat it and go, hmm…interesting. And you keep eating it trying to decide what you think about it.

And then, realise you’ve finished the bag.

I will say this, though. If you like something mild and creamy, this is for you.

Now lets talk about the Spicy Guacamole Tortilla Chips.

These chips have a slightly green tinge to them. My colleague says this means it’s healthy. I say this is why he’s fat.

Anyway, I’ll just say this. I don’t know what kind of wizardry they’ve used to make these chips, but they made them taste exactly like nachos dipped in guacamole!

Oh yes, and the icing on the cake is that these are spicy.

Like legit spicy. And hot damn, I loved every bite.

If you don’t like spice, dip it in tomato salsa. It will be perfect. Because it tastes so good!

These chip are amazing and so freakin’ worth it. Definitely get these.

Last, but not least, Prime Rib.

They look deceptively normal when you open the bag, by the way.

But oh. my. lord.

These are the BEST CHIPS that I have EVER had. In my whole life. Like ever.

And I’m the kind that will go buy those atas packets of chips just to try all the flavours.

But seriously. These are my new holy-grail chips.

I was forced to share these and they were gone in 2 minutes. No joke. I was not happy.

But I will go to 7-Eleven to get 10 of these.

It tastes like you’re sitting in a legit steakhouse (no, not Astons), with that smoky smell of grilled steaks surrounding you.

You’ve finished eating your perfectly grilled steak and you’re now taking a bite of your crunchy fries, dipping it in that smoky steak sauce and eating it.

That’s what the chips taste like. I don’t know how else to describe it. If you like meat, you’re gonna love this.

These are the best chips ever made (by far) in my not so humble opinion, as I have spent hundreds of dollars on all types of chips, and this hands down takes the cake.

If beef jerky had a chip version, this would be it. If you were only goning to buy one flavour of chips, DEFINITELY buy this.

It is so freakin’ worth it. You will absolutely not regret it.

In fact, my only regret is that I have told you about this amazing chip flavour and now I have to fight out the competition to buy as many as I can get my hands on.

The other flavours are not reviewed as they are normal chip flavours you can get your hands on anywhere – Original, Sour Cream and Onion, Kettle Salt and Vinegar, and Kettle Barbecue chippies.

Just be warned though, the salt & vinegar is particularly sour – more so than the usual. My colleague even said that it’s so sour, it “burned” his tongue. Either he’s a fragile little creature of it’s really that sour.

Well, all that’s left is for you guys to head down to your nearest 7-Eleven to get your hands on all these amazing goodies.

And USA, you may do a lot of things wrong, but man, you guys do chips right.
