MOH Responds to Man Who Claims His Mother Allegedly Died After Taking COVID-19 Vaccine

Vaccine side effects usually include slight fever, cough, runny nose, and some soreness especially on the site of the injection.

Unfortunately, sometimes, the side effects may be manifest as something more serious, such as blood clots which has killed some people in other countries.

Thankfully, that isnโ€™t a common side effect for Pfizer vaccine recipients.

Instead, as one man claimed on his lengthy Facebook post, the vaccine may potentially โ€œcausedโ€ the heart attack which killed his mother, one day after she received her first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

72 YO Womanโ€™s Death Not Linked to Pfizer Vaccine

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has released a statement on 19 June regarding the death of a 72-year-old woman, who suddenly died one day after receiving her first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the MOH, the autopsy showed no allergic reactions to the jab and that the cause of death โ€“ ischaemic heart disease โ€“ wasnโ€™t a result of the vaccine.

โ€œThe autopsy found long-standing blockage of the blood vessels supplying blood to the heart muscles, which could not be caused by vaccination,โ€ the ministry clarified.

The MOH added, โ€œShe had been assessed by trained healthcare personnel to be suitable for COVID-19 vaccination prior to vaccination.โ€

โ€œIn line with our protocols, she was also observed on-site for about 30 minutes post-vaccination and was well.โ€

The autopsy was conducted and the cause of death was determined by an independent coroner, unlinked to the ministry.

However, the results have been called into question by the deceasedโ€™s son, Mr Andrew Tan, in his Facebook post.

He tried to track down whether or not the vaccine could have caused his motherโ€™s heart disease which resulted in her untimely death, but he claimed he was stonewalled.

In his post, he mentioned that the investigating officer told him that queries regarding COVID-19 currently have โ€œa four-month waiting lineโ€ and that heโ€™ll have to be prepared to wait.

Mr Tan added in his post, โ€œEven though the anomaly was the vaccine, I knew I was not going to get my answer.โ€

Determined to โ€œseek the truthโ€, he also asked others who have similar experiences to reach out to him via the Facebook post he published.

That being said, he clarified that heโ€™s not proposing that people stop getting vaccinated, as he himself was vaccinated and by the very same vaccine his mother had too.

When contacted by TODAY, Mr Tan said that his mother is very diligent with her medication and regularly goes for medical check-ups.

โ€œShe doesnโ€™t eat any unhealthy food and is very careful with her dietโ€ฆ she is a perfectly functioning healthy, normal woman.โ€

Heโ€™s hoping to obtain the financial aid provided to those who may be adversely affected by the vaccine they received under the vaccine injury financial assistance programme for COVID-19 vaccination (Vifap).

Previous cases

Back in March of this year, a 57-year-old man died from a heart attack one day after receiving his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

The MOH has commissioned an independent clinical panel to investigate the matter back then.

They had come to the conclusion that due to the manโ€™s history of hypertension and diabetes, the certified cause of death is the heart attack; not as a result of a severe reaction to the vaccine.

However, an autopsy wasnโ€™t conducted due to a request by the manโ€™s daughter so certain information isnโ€™t available.

In spite of that, the manโ€™s family refuted the result by stating that the man had no history of heart problems.

They hoped the government would provide further details as to how they determined that the heart attack wasnโ€™t linked to the vaccine.

A Safety Update from the Health Sciences Authority

Health Sciences Authority also released a safety update regarding the two mRNA vaccines, Pfizer and Moderna.

โ€œA greater frequency of heart attacks and strokes can occur naturally within our population, regardless of whether people are vaccinated or not.โ€

โ€œDue to the large numbers of people being vaccinated, it expected that, by coincidence, some individuals may experience other medical events such as heart attacks and strokes in the days or weeks after vaccination, which may not be related to the vaccination.โ€
