Jacky Wu might be the king of hosts in the entertainment scenes, but his daughter Sandy Wu has been making the headlines for reasons other than having a famous dad.
The gorgeous 27-year-old is now making her first forages into the entertainment scene, being a host to several variety shows.
Do you know all these facts about Jacky Wu’s daughter?
She graduated from Washington State University in the USA.
Having the 8th richest man in Taiwan as your dad does has its perks sometimes, especially when you can get a good education. Sandy studied in the USA since she was 14, even taking care of her younger sister who was with her. She also graduated with excellent results, proving that she has both brains and beauty.
She became an English teacher in Taiwan upon graduation.
She taught at secondary schools, tuition centres and was even a home-schooling teacher for 7 families. Her financial independence was widely praised by many netizens.
She nearly became part of a younger version of S.H.E.
Her father had plans to make a version of the famous Taiwanese girl group and include Sandy in it. However, the plan failed to materialise because of his wife (Sandy’s mother)’s objections.
She first entered the entertainment scene as a host on a music show.
She took on the role of the newscaster in a web-based music show programme, marking her first entry into the hosting world.
She co-hosts a TV programme with her dad.
She hosts Super Followers with Jacky Wu. Sandy has even revealed some heart-warming tidbits about her experience, such as Jacky Wu’s constant concern. He would ask her questions like “Are your heels hurting you?”, “Are you hungry?” and so on.
She has a very strong relationship with her dad.
Sandy stood up for her dad when he was criticised at the Golden Bell Awards. She described her father’s efforts and contribution as an entertainer, claiming that the judges had “no rights to insult my dad”, garnering many likes for that Facebook post.
Her entertainment fee per episode is NT20,000 (SGD880).
This is considered pretty low, as compared to her showbiz king dad who earns NT500,000 (SGD$22,000) per episode. That’s still some good money, if you ask us.
Her inspiration is Patty Hou.
Nope, it’s not her father. Perhaps, she is planning to go a different route since her sweet appearances are pretty different from her father’s. We say that she has made the right choice, seeing as how Patty Hou was also US-educated, gorgeous and also a very successful entertainer who similarly started out as a newscaster.
