Granted, Macau is widely known for the slew of casinos found in the country, since there is a good reason why they are aptly named the “Las Vegas Of Asia”. And honestly, before visiting the country, I always thought that there were really nothing more to it than just hordes of people visiting gambling dens whilst eating truckload of egg tarts and Macanese pork buns.
And boy was I wrong.
Rather than going to these already-known attractions, there are still some places in Macau that are severely underrated which is worth a visit if you are planning to head there for 2D1N or even a day trip.
1. Macau Sky Walk
I wish I could tell you that it isn’t scary. But for someone who is dead afraid of heights, I did it.
What I can tell you though, is that you are definitely going to regret it if you even get your ass up there when in Macau.
Granted, you will be walking 233 m above ground (which is essentially 61 stories high), but the amount of harnesses that will be attached to your body will make you feel as though you are only walking 3 stories above ground.
Oh, and the best part? There WILL be a designated photographer and guide with you at every step of the way, you won’t have to lug your poor DSLRs out and expose it to free-falling at such a high altitude. You will also get quality pictures like the ones above which will be given to you in a thumb drive for free.
Not bad, huh?
And if you still can’t get enough of the thrill, you can also opt for the Bungee Jumping or the Vertical Sky Walk too.

2. Catch The House Of Dancing Water Show
Think acrobats and gymnasts doing crazy stunts in the water, bikers flying across the stage as well as a well-planned story plot that will make you glued to the performance stage. The play evokes all kinds of emotions – be it anger, joy, sadness and even a sappy love story unlike any other.

3. Ride The Golden Reel
Not just any Ferris Wheel, but the world’s first figure-8 Ferris wheel also known as the Golden Reel. The ride snakes around the number 8, and up there, you can see a stunning view of the city and the South China Sea. Highly recommended to visit it at night!

4. Visit The Eiffel Tower
No, you don’t have to travel all the way to Paris anymore. Located at The Parisian, a Paris-themed hotel in Macao, The Macao Eiffel Tower is dotted with 6,000 individual light bulbs (image how it’ll look like at night!) and has observation decks on Level 7 and 37.
My advice? Just skip Level 7 and go straight up. For those around the area, there will also be a daily light show 7:30 pm – 10 pm with a 15-minute interval!

5. The 1st Michael Jackson 3D Museum
Which also holds the world’s FIRST Michael Jackson exhibition that combines 3D artworks. You can even find the gloves worn by Michael Jackson right before your eyes!
The owner of the museum is a huge fan of the singer, and has sourced high and low for some of the pre-owned merchandises by the singer – including the original mask and costume worn in the Thriller MV!
And while you are there, you can also take the time to visit some of the other 3D exhibits too!

6. Go Boat Paddling
If you think it looks easy, think again. The boat paddling activity requires tons of synchronization and teamwork – great if you are looking for a fun family activity or to see if you and your other halves are in sync.
Better go train up your leg muscles before this. And don’t worry, it’s really as safe as it looks.
7. The House of Magic Show
Also owned by Franz Harary who is a world famous illusionist. Here, you can witness 3 different magic shows for just the prize of one and be seated in a 300-seat main theater to witness Franz Harary’s electrifying “Mega Magic”.

8. 4D Batman Movie
Think the Transformer movie in Singapore’s USS but even better. This show is enhanced with the latest in flight simulation technology and is extremely action-packed. You can even spot Joker and Harley Quinn in their thrilling cat and mouse chase!
