In a country where we got to pay for almost everything, finding places that are free, relatively empty and romantic is incredibly difficult. Most of the time, chilling means Starbucks or any great coffee places. We’ll get a drink and sit there for ages.

That’s chilling and while there’s nothing wrong with it, it can burn a hole in your pocket in the long run. So here are 10 places for you to chill at there are free, empty and romantic.

Labrador Nature Reserve

To all our avid nature lovers, this park is the place for you! Built on the edge of the secondary forest, you can be sure to hear birds chirping and squirrels scurrying as you take a leisure stroll.

Punggol Park

This place is great if you love taking walks. Similar to Labrador Park, the shady path at the northern end of the park provides a cool area for you to take a romantic walk there. We suggest going there during evening where the weather is relatively cooler. Believe us, it’ll make a romantic date.

Toa Payoh HDB Sky Garden

Located at Toa Payoh Central, this highest HDB flat has 40 floors and a connecting panoramic sky garden. Open to public, you are able to go to the sky garden to chill and enjoy some peaceful moments.

National Library The Courtyard

Who’s to say that the library is reserved for bookworms? Head over to The Retreat (level 5) and The Courtyard (level 10) for a beautiful view of lush plantations. With it being located within the library, you can be sure that it will be awesome to chill at. Not to mention, empty. But now that you guys know about this place, it might get a little bit more crowded.

Changi Airport

Now, I’m sure all our East siders all love heading to Changi Airport for a good chill out session. Terminal 1 offers an observational area where you can view the take off and landing off a plane. And not many people heads there so you can be sure that it will be relatively empty.

Marina Bay Sands Rooftop Gardens at Level 5

We’re not talking about the SkyPark, we’re talking about lower rooftop garden located at the most top level of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. With a gorgeous view of the Singapore Flyer, there are plenty of outdoor seats for you to chill at while enjoying the great view.

Suntec City Sky Garden

Located at the third level of Suntec City, this rooftop garden has loads of greenery. We especially love the fountain surrounded by stone seats. Plus it exude a magical sense of romance in the evening. And if you get thirsty while chatting your hearts out, there are vending machines nearby for you to get a drink!

VivoCity Sky Park

Known to many, this place is a great area to chill at. Beautifully lighted up during the night times, there are always areas for you to sit at. While it may not be super empty, you can tuck yourself in a little corner with your loved ones, and it’ll make for a great heart to heart session. There are two pools where you can remove your shoes and soak your feet. With a breathtaking view of the sea, this place is one of our favourites!

Orchard Central Roof Garden

I have been here multiple times and I can definitely say this is one of my favourite places to chill at. After walking around town for ages, I love getting a drink and coming up to this area. Almost always empty, we will find a corner to sit at and chat for hours. And it makes for an Insta-worthy photo with stunning views of the city skyline.
