When we think of Christmas, the first few things that come to mind include Santa, Gingerbread, and snow.
These are iconic things that define Christmas, but in a tropical country like Singapore, it is impossible to see snowfall.
However, although we do not have authentic snow, there are still places in Singapore where you can experience snow.
Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice
This event is probably Singapore’s most hyped festive event of the year. It is the biggest icy winter playground in Singapore, happening from 1 December 2022 to 1 January 2023.
The event is located at the Bayfront event space and includes both a snow section and an ice section.
In the snow section, the highlight includes the 70m snow slope, which is the longest in Singapore. You can also enjoy activities like ice cycling and ice bowling at the ice section.
One fun fact: if you think that the snow is fake, it isn’t. The snow is actually made by a real snowmaker from Beijing.
Tickets are priced at S$45 per adult, S$40 for students, and S$35 for children, and you can purchase them here.
Christmas Wonderland
Of course, we cannot forget Christmas Wonderland—a yearly date spot for all couples and a highly popular spot amongst families and friends.
Christmas Wonderland will be held from 2 December 2022 to 1 January 2023 at Gardens by the Bay.
You can take photos at the Instagram-worthy installations and enjoy many performances, a Santa meet-and-greet, and snowfall sessions.
Each ticket is priced at S$8 for an adult and S$6 for a child from 2 – 15 December 2022, and S$10 per adult and S$6 per child for the subsequent days.
Snow City
You can never forget the OG place to see snow in Singapore—Snow City.
Snow City is Singapore’s first indoor snow centre, which opened in 2000. Some of us were not even born yet.
The iconic activities include the bumper car, winter shooting, and the snow slide. They opened the Ice Hotel Gallery last year, and no, it is not a literal hotel. Although it would be exciting to experience living in an ice hotel, the one at Snow City includes ice sculptures that represent Singapore.
You can purchase Snow City tickets for S$25 each.
Tanglin Mall
Snowfall sessions are available in malls too, and one is Tanglin Mall. After two years, the snowfall sessions are finally back. You can catch snow avalanches and snowfall sessions from now till 2 January 2023.
The timings are from 7.30 pm to 7.45 pm on weekdays, 7.30 pm to 7.45 pm, and 8.30 pm to 8.45 pm on weekends.
The best part is probably how it is free of charge, and no tickets are required.
Jewel Changi Airport
Jewel Changi Airport is probably one of the most visited places since the festive season is a peak period for going overseas.
Whether you wish to drop by before your flight or go for the Christmas vibes, the Shiseido Forest Valley is the place to go.
The snowfall sessions will be from 11 November 2022 to 2 January 2023 at 7.35 pm, 8.35 pm, 9.35 pm and 10.35 pm.
On certain days, there are additional timings listed below:
23 December 2022: 11.05 pm
24 December 2022: 12 am
25 December 2022: 11.05 pm
30 December 2022: 11.05 pm
31 December 2022: 12 am
1 January 2023: 11.05 pm
VivoCity
VivoCity is another mall for those living in the southern and central parts of Singapore.
Kids will enjoy it as there are five giant inflatables, a Christmas tree, and more.
The event is located at the Outdoor Plaza at Level 1 and is available from 2 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 10 pm on weekends. It will be held from now till 26 December 2022.

Capitol and Chijmes festive event will return this year, from 2 December 2022 to 26 December 2022.
You can expect live band performances, a Christmas Market, and beautiful snowfalls.

Marina Bay Sands
We all know Marina Bay Sands (MBS) as an atas mall with lots of branded goods to shop for, but have you seen the majestic Christmas trees this year?
They really stepped up their game a lot.
Many TikTok users have posted on the golden sparkly Christmas decorations at MBS, and it absolutely looks gorgeous.
Now, you have another reason to visit MBS and not just for Gardens By The Bay or shopping.
Festive Wild-erland
The last place you would think of to see snow is at a place like the Zoo. However, they also have snowfall sessions and a special entry bundle promotion this Christmas.
You can save up to 35% when you visit Singapore Zoo and Night Safari for a festive day-to-night experience. Local residents can get a S$5 retail voucher with every purchase of an adult bundle.
The snowfall sessions are held from 8 to 11, 15 to 18 & 22 to 26 December 2022 from 7.30 – 10.30 pm. Each snowfall session lasts for 30 seconds with a five-minute interval at Naracoorte Cave.
