Facebook Cafe Takes Over Restaurant From 22-24 Nov; Free Emoji Pancakes To Be Given Out

I’m on social media far more often then I care to admit.

Off work hours only of course.

But have you ever been on Facebook and looked at the reaction emotes for a while and think, “I’d like to eat that emote.”

Yeah, just read that once or twice to make sure.

Because no joke, that weird thought of yours might become a reality next week.

Limited Time Facebook Cafe

Your eyes probably widened as much as mine did when reading that sub-header.

Temporarily taking over Five Oars Coffee Roasters, the Facebook Cafe will open at Tanjong Pagar from 22 to 24 November.

And yes, ONLY for those days.

This isn’t a totally new concept as Facebook has done pop up cafe’s countries like Japan and Indonesia before.

According to Mothership, the cafe aims to raise awareness of users’ privacy and security controls on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

I’m…not sure how that works though?

Maybe if I eat one of their products, Mark Zuckerberg can instil his technological prowess in me?

Oh, by the way, speaking of eating their products…

Eat-mojis

What I described in the opening segments of this article were completely true.

You can actually redeem a free emoji pancake and a regular coffee at the cafe.

All you have to do is fill up a quick quiz to test your privacy knowledge and viola, you now eat a Facebook reaction.

That pancake at the back there is me right before I realised this Facebook cafe was real.

Even the coffee has an emoji on it!

I’m quite a sucker for coffee art but the real issue is deciding whether to drink it and ruin the image or not.

Can I get a thinking emoji for that one?

Where The Place At

Is the question that everyone is probably mumbling while looking at their screens now.

Address: Five Oars Coffee Roasters, 39 Tanjong Pagar Road, Singapore 088462

Opening Hours: 2 – 6 pm (22 November), 9 am – 6 pm (23 and 24 November)

Casual reminder that the cafe won’t be around after those dates so don’t miss it!

I’m already going to be that the queues would be insane so I’d suggest heading as early as possible.

Kiasu Singaporean senses kicking into overdrive right now.
