A 71-year-old man was discovered lying motionless at the foot of Block 139 Jalan Bukit Merah on 16 Nov 2025. The Singapore Police Force received the alert at 6:30am regarding the incident.
An SCDF paramedic pronounced the man dead at the scene. A blue tent was spotted at the void deck of the block at around 9:00am.
No Foul Play Suspected in Unnatural Death Case
The police have classified the case as an unnatural death. Based on preliminary investigations, officers do not suspect foul play.
Police investigations are currently ongoing.
The incident occurred just three days after another case in Hougang on 13 Nov 2025.
A 23-year-old woman, believed to be a foreign domestic worker, was found sprawled face down on a grass verge next to Block 649 Hougang Avenue 8.
Police also did not suspect foul play in the Hougang case. Investigations for that incident remain ongoing as well.
