Firefly has cancelled its flights between Singapore’s Seletar Airport and Subang in Malaysia from 10 to 12 October 2026 inclusive, after haze and weather conditions affected Seletar.
The airline described the cancellations as a safety precaution in a travel advisory. BERITA Mediacorp reported on 10 October that 12 flights were affected across the cancellation period.
Replacement Flights Use Changi And KLIA
Firefly said it was contacting affected passengers to arrange seats on Malaysia Airlines services, depending on availability.
These alternatives operate through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). Travellers accepting a replacement should therefore check their revised itinerary carefully before arranging transport to the airport.
Passengers who decide against taking the alternative flights can get their fares refunded in full.
To receive updates, Firefly has asked customers to check and update their contact information through Manage My Booking.
Haze Expected To Persist Into Sunday
The disruption comes as Singapore continues to experience unhealthy air quality.
In its 10 October evening advisory, cited by CNA, the National Environment Agency (NEA) forecast that the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) would remain within the unhealthy band over the following 24 hours, potentially reaching its higher levels.
At 9pm on 10 October, the 24-hour PSI across Singapore ranged from 119 to 165, CNA reported.
NEA’s regional update, issued at 5:30pm that day, said smoke haze was affecting Singapore and parts of neighbouring countries. It warned that areas with prolonged dry weather could continue to experience elevated hotspot activity and haze, even as rain brought possible relief elsewhere.
