A yacht hit a pontoon at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove on the morning of 10 August, temporarily disrupting water, electricity and fuel services nearby.
No injuries were reported, while normal operations at the marina continued.
Yacht Was Reversing Into Its Berth
Footage posted on TikTok at about 10.45am showed the three-storey yacht reversing towards its berth before it appeared to hit the fender placed against the pontoon.
A pontoon is a floating platform used to provide access to vessels at a marina.
In the video, several people could be seen moving quickly on the yacht and the nearby pontoon as it approached.
One person placed a fender between the yacht and the pontoon. The protective bumper was compressed during the impact, causing the pontoon to move and sending ripples across the water.
Smoke or vapour was also visible above the platform after the collision. The exact source was not stated.
Services Restored Shortly Afterwards
ONE°15 Marina Club’s management told The Straits Times that the yacht made contact with the pontoon while entering its berth.
The impact temporarily interrupted water, electricity and fuel services within the immediate area. All three services were restored shortly afterwards.
Management described the damage to the marina’s infrastructure as minor and said it was assessing the affected facilities.
The incident was confined to that part of the marina, and the rest of its operations continued as usual.
