Marina Square Shopping Mall will close on 31 March 2027 for a major redevelopment of the 9.2-hectare Marina Square complex, Singapore Land Group (SingLand) announced on 1 September 2026.
The redevelopment is expected to be completed around 2031 and will add new residential, hospitality and office spaces while upgrading the existing mall.
The three hotels currently operating within the complex, Pan Pacific Singapore, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay and Mandarin Oriental Singapore, will remain open throughout the construction period.
Three New Towers To Be Added
The redevelopment plans include three new towers.
A 49-storey residential tower will offer 204 luxury homes, including three- to five-bedroom apartments and penthouses.
A separate 24-storey serviced apartment block will add 260 keys, while a 19-storey mixed-use tower will include about 13,000 sq m of Grade A office space and a new 304-key hotel.
After the redevelopment, the site’s total gross floor area will increase to about 362,493 sq m.
SingLand CEO Jonathan Eu said the project was an opportunity to reimagine Marina Square as a more connected destination.
Existing Mall To Be Upgraded, Not Demolished
The four-storey Marina Square Shopping Mall will not be demolished.
Instead, it will undergo an asset enhancement programme covering more than 76,000 sq m of gross floor area.
The upgraded mall will include more food and beverage offerings, sports, wellness and lifestyle concepts, as well as landscaped and pet-friendly spaces.
The plans also include a 6,500 sq m public park above Stamford Canal.
The redevelopment received Written Permission from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) on 31 August 2026 under the Strategic Development Incentive scheme.
Marina Centre Has Been Part Of Singapore's Waterfront District Since The 1980s
Marina Centre, which includes Marina Square, was completed in 1986 as part of Singapore’s efforts to develop the Marina Bay area.
SingLand is a subsidiary of UOL Group.
The company said the redevelopment aims to strengthen Marina Square’s role as a mixed-use destination combining retail, hospitality, residential, office and public spaces.
