A 30-year-old woman died in an accident involving a bus at Queen Street Bus Terminal in Bugis on Tuesday evening (6 October 2026). The bus driver, a 32-year-old man, was arrested.
Woman Freed From Beneath Bus
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received an alert at about 7pm about an accident at the junction of Queen Street and Arab Street.
Rescuers used hydraulic tools to free the woman, who was trapped beneath the bus. An SCDF paramedic subsequently confirmed her death at the scene.
Police said the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention causing death. Investigations were continuing.
Service 170 Resumed Before Midnight
An SBS Transit spokesperson told The Straits Times that the terminal reopened at about 11.50pm, when Service 170 also resumed.
During the closure, a Facebook notice cited by ST directed passengers to board near Queen Street and Arab Street, and alight outside the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes on Ophir Road.
